An Actual Conversation At My House

My husband wonders sometimes what has happened to my ability to think on a higher level and remember basic things, and I think that it largely relates to having conversations such as this:

"Hey mom, Matthew played the bongos on my head and at first it hurt, but then my head got so numb I couldn't feel it anymore, so I just let him keep on doing it!"

I will not tell you which one of my children said this to me, as I don't want you all to be inspecting her for brain damage should you happen to meet her.  The scary thing is, I never saw any of this occuring.  Hmmm, better get off the internet.

Mar. 1, 2007 - Had to share mine

I have two boys. One day my little one, who was 4 at the time told me that he had climbed out on the roof from his bedroom window (on the 2nd story) with my older son who was 7. I totally flipped out as I thought about how easily one could have fallen! So I confronted my 7 year old. He proudly announced "We do that all the time, Mom! I watch Matthew really carefully so he won't fall." I realized then that boys need very detailed rules. So along with "don't play with knives", "don't use matches", etc..., I had to include "Don't walk on the roof!" I wonder if my neighbors every saw my two little boys walking on the roof and wondered "What kind of mother do they have?

Just had to share!!!

That's so funny! I love to post overheard conversations between my kids! Everyday life can be so funny! And yes, regarding the "higher thinking," - sometimes I vaguely remember a time when I was smart. But then the feeling passes...perhaps it was only a dream. Ü

I have started a new blog, and closed out my old one for purposes of anonymity. On my old blog, we had just become acquainted. I entered a post about "seeker-sensitive" churches. Do you remember me? Anyway, if you remember, feel free to add my new blog to your friends list. Have a great day---and try not to lose any more brain cells!
