Spring Has Sprung

My neighbor has hung a flag outside her house that I saw while I was running today.  It says, "Welcome Spring!"  That is how I have felt these last several days as spring is definitely bursting everywhere around our area.  Here are some signs of spring I am noticing:

Our cherry tree has bloomed and when the wind blows, the little pink petals blow everywhere.  My four year old says, "Look mom, it's snowing!"  Today he brought me some petals in his hand like a treasure and offered them up.  "Feel these mom," he said with all the wonder of a child.  "They're so soft."  Indeed they were.

Our azaleas are just about to open-- just in time for Easter.

Everyone's cars are covered in a fine haze of yellow pollen dust.  Even though my car is dirty, it makes me happy to see all the cars covered because I know that means everything is blooming and will soon be lush and green again.

The little old fashioned hardware store on the main street of our town had a sign out today that said, "Tomato plants ready.  Blueberries.  Muscadines."

We are all shedding our winter clothing and needing summer stuff fast!  Today and yesterday it was close to 90 degrees!

I can leave my screened in porch door open all day and enjoy the fresh air.  I love airing out the house from cooped up winter-- such a good feeling!

The other day my daughter said to me, "Mom, things have springed out everywhere!"

They sure have.
