My parents are taking my kids to their camp for the day, they'll be back this evening to take baths and get ready for church tomorrow morning. Spencer walked in this morning, rubbing his eyes, and asked me if today is Easter. LOL. The wait is killing them.
I've never done "traditional" easter baskets for my kids, you know the pastel plasticky baskets with the easter grass and celophane wrapped around the entire outside. And this year is no different. Each kid will be getting a flower pot that I'm using to put their stuff in. I also bought potting soil the other day and this coming week we will go to a gardening center and they can pick out what they want for their pot. In the basket is only one small chocolate bunny, and I mean small, like a 1/4" thick and 3 or 4 inches tall. Some Peeps that I'll put into the plastic eggs along with a couple of other kinds of candies. I got them each a PS2 game that was on sale very very cheap at Target along with some sort of flying type toy each. Oh, and I'd also picked up a little craft kit for each of them from A. C. Moore.
Back to today, I'll have it all to myself for several hours, what in the world will I do? I've already got some laundry started, so that will keep running while I get myself presentable. I'm going to go the our local warehouse club and check out the sweepers they have, our vacuum cleaner finally went capoot (which I'm happy about actually, it's so loud!). Plus I need to do some other shopping while I'm there too. I'm going to treat myself to a nice quiet lunch somewhere that I've always wanted to go to, but never will because of the kids. I'd love to try something new, but I hate going new places all by myself. So I'll probably just end up going to Heavenly Ham and getting their turkey salad on French bread, it's my all time favorite sandwich anyway. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Well, better go get out of these pj's and hit the road so I can get back home and do some major cleaning!!! |
