I weighed myself this morning and even though I have lost 4 pounds since the first of last month, it is not as much as I had lost earlier this month. I had lost about 7 pounds and gained some of it back. But I'll take a 4 pound weight loss over a weight gain, so I'm still ahead!! I know the reason I had lost more was because I'd had a mild case of the flu for about 3-4 days and barely ate anything, and once I was feeling better I, of course, ate more normally.
I have been taking more care in what I eat and drink, but not as much as I could/should be. I haven't had much in the way of sweets, but not totally denying myself either. I still drink iced tea all day long and rarely consume the glassfuls of water that I should. However, my tea is made with decaffinaited tea bags and is sweetened with half sugar and half Splenda (well, Wal-Mart brand anyway), so my calories are reduced, but only a little. We are still eating the same type of meals we all enjoy, but I do cut my portions down and try to eat more salads. My goal was to make sure we eat a lot of fruits and veggies/salads and while we do still eat a lot, it's not as much as I'd wanted.
So, while I'm happy with a little weight loss, I'm not real pleased that it's not as great as it could have been. One other reason, while I'm being honest, is a complete and total lack of exercise. And with the weather being so extremely cold right now, I rarely leave the house, so I don't even get the exercise of walking around a store or anything like that. Well, today is the beginning of a new month and one that I plan to use more effectively for my goal of weight loss. I'll updat the first of March, and I hope I can give better results then. |
Thursday, February 1, 2007 - right there with ya
I did take the opportunity to make better choices - like eating at quiznos rather than mcdonalds, but I haven't gotten on the scale in awhile..
someday I guess.
Keep up the good work. We'll have to try and encourage each other.
