In just a day or two I'll be meeting my very dear friend that happens to live all the way on the opposite side of the country from where I am. I'm in West Virginia and she is from Washington state. She's in this area visiting her husbands family for the holidays and I'm lucky enough that she and her family will be coming to see us too!
It is still so amazing to me that we have become such dear friends and soul sisters, and yet we have never met. We've spoken on the phone several times and we both have a hard time hanging up, we just keep on talking even after we say goodbye!
I can't wait to meet them, but yet I'm starting to become a nervous wreck about it too. I start questioning myself constantly. Will they be disappointed in our house, in my family, in ME? Will I ever feel I have the house clean enough (not likely)? Will my children be able to handle other people spending the night in our house with us? Will I have everything they will possible need? Will I have patience if we start to get on each others nerves?
So many silly questions, but still they can become pretty nagging. I'm planning on going to the store to pick up some new sheets for the bed they'll be using, plus the food we'll be using for the meals for all of us. I'll pick up all the clutter from the main living areas, and sweep and mop all the floors. I'll also make sure the bathroom will be as sparkling as I can get it and will fill it up with all sorts of nice clean towels, and washclothes. Also need to check the supply of new soaps and shampoos in case they aren't bringing their own. Well, I'd better close this for now and get out my notepad and paper and start making my list! |

Enjoy your visit. Remember, they've visited many houses, it's YOU they're making the side trip to see :)
