So. This is my fourth one. You'd think I'd know what I'm doing by now. After two weeks of a doctor telling me that this baby could come any day, the doctor on Tuesday said I wasn't that far along, she told me to schedule my appointment for the following week and said, "And I"m sure you'll be here." Rather discouraging. At the same time, I still know it could happen at any hour. But here's the kicker. I have bouts of killer contractions. I was almost at the hospital last night. They started out hard--5-10 minutes apart, for two hours, and continued for two more hours. I decided to wait them out, only because I had a hunch that they weren't real, and after four hours of contractions, it turned out I was right. They were nothing. But what is that about? When I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I felt like my body had been through a war--all my muscles were so sore. I'm slightly afraid that I'm going to miss the real thing, because I'm so used to contractions. Fortunately, we live less than a mile from the hospital, so I'm not too, too worried. But I'd hoped that I could rely on some experience at this stage of the game. Instead, I'm still guessing. Guess that keeps me relying on Him!!
