Inadequate Blogger
Some of you girls are so good at writing up neat, interesting, well-thought out blog entries. Me? Well, I don't take the time to reread, or re-reread, come up with cute things, etc. I realize some of you are just 'naturals!' It's not often that I read other blogs due to my time schedule/priorities though. What comes to my mind first is what you get!
My dear friend has a new blog and she is an AWESOME writer! I'm very proud of her. But now I'm feeling a bit inadequate. Hmmmm...I am guessing I am almost over it or I wouldn't be adding this 'mediocre' entry. ;)
I love to keep in touch with you all so stop by and leave me your words of wisdom. I will try and be better about keeping up my blog this year.
Hugz my friends!
P.S. I double checked with dictionary.com and I correctly spelled mediocre. hee hee

Are You A Good Cook?
Well, I haven't added an entry since they updated the systems soooooo I'm gonna have to just use the text only version of the quiz...if someone can clue me in on how to add html to entries I'd greatly appreciate it LOL!
***You Are an Excellent Cook***
You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning.
It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire...

Wow! Sure doesn't seem like Friday!
It all started Wednesday afternoon with Zac having a headache...I realized he had a fever to go along with it. 400 mg of ibuprofen wasn't even bringing it down...well...throughout the night he vomited so I went to get him some tylenol to rotate with the iburprofen when I was chatting on the phone with my good friend, and I mentioned the fever wasn't breaking with the meds. She alerted me that I should be concerned about that more then the other symptoms so I immediately took him to the clinic.
They were unsure what was going on with him but ordered lab work. When they called me with the results that afternoon the doctor was very concerned about his white cell count being so high and told me I should take him to the ER immediately to get further checked out.
After arranging with mom to keep the kids (thank goodness for moms!) we headed to the ER. Oh my! There were a LOT of people there! Fortunately, they call you in according to the degree of seriousness and many were in a fender bender that day (5 at ONE highschool on the FIRST day of school!!).
Anyhow, the tenderness Zac had felt at the doctor office earlier was more severe but not too terrible so they suspected appendicitis.
After hours of tests with no definite answer they decided to keep him overnight for observation. Praise the Lord we are home now with the diagnosis of "it was a virus." hmmmmmm...okay!
I am just thankful that my baby is okay. I know God is our great Physician and had my trust in Him to care for my lil boy. Thank You, Lord for Your faithfulness!
He hasn't had any symptoms and is back to his usual self...$6000 later (covered by insurance PTL!!).
Thank you to all my dear friends who prayed for him!!!!! It really means more then I can express.

Field Trip Day!
My friend, Angela and I went to the ambulance center today...Zac got to be hooked up to the heart monitor! It was fun! They showed us the inside and outside of the ambulence (including lights and sirens hee hee), sleeping quarters, where they take the emergency calls and how that works...pretty neat for the lil ones.
After that we headed to this really cool park...it has a big town made out of wood...a HUGE well, many buildings and bridges...swings, anything you can think of! What fun they had! We enjoyed our picnic lunch there as well. My Big D (5 yo ds) said, "Momma, remember the directions how to get here so we can come back!"
It was a smoltering 90 degrees by the time we left!
roflol ummm...is smoltering a word? lol I'll leave that up to you to find out! hee hee

Bottlefed Babes Update!

Aren't they adorable?! Flip, Cleo, and Daisy...I'm trying to get them to start eating kitten food warmed with formula...only one really likes it so far. Hubby didn't say anything about adding a 3rd kitten to the group LOL He's not too fond of kittens anyhow so whether it's 2 or 3 I suppose made no difference.

Lookie at our newest bottlefed babes...

I adopted these lil sweeties after finding out their mother was unable to care for them. Aren't they the cutest lil things?! It's so cute to watch them suck on the little bottle. We believe they are approximately 4 weeks old...don't tell hubby but another one that looks just like his brother (the yellow one) is coming tomorrow! They couldn't find him a home so we are taking him in.

Microwave Fraction Smores (Recipe)
Okay, I was supposed to be cleaning the kitchen but instead I made smores and came up with a cute recipe idea.
Makes 1 smore
Ingredients:
1 whole graham cracker rectangle
1 whole marshmellow
1/6 Hershey candy bar
Directions:
Take the whole graham cracker and break into 1/2 (squares). Place one on plate. Place 1/6 candy bar on top of one of the graham cracker 1/2's. Top the chocolate with 1 whole marshmellow. Place in microwave for 1/6 of a minute. Top with other 1/2 of graham cracker. Enjoy in a fraction of 1 hour!
I typed this while on the phone so hopefully didn't make too many mistakes LOL

From Plastic to Cloth...
I've been using cloth diapers on Baby E...at least during the day. Does anyone use these anymore? LOL I know many do but it's impossible to find the diaper covers...so after deciding I want something that will still 'breathe' this is what I"m doing.
I place the pre-folded diaper down, add a terry cloth baby wash cloth folded in half and then a soft piece of fleece...pin it on and then put a pair of those absorbant training panties on. Works absolutely wonderful!!!!! If I'd have done this the first several times I've tried cloth with my others I wouldn't have given up so quickly.
Would love to hear your ideas and what you do (have done)!

So many new things I'm sure I'll be back...
to make another post...I haven't taken the time to write on my blog so I don't know where to begin. Many things have happened around here LOL...
We got a new dog, Caesar, 7 mos old. He's black/white and just too cute! He's the perfect dog for our family. Very well mannered and wonderful with the kids. I'm normally not a 'dog person' but Caesar is without a doubt MY dog...hee hee.
Baby E, 10 mos old now...waaahhh...caught up on her shots at her well baby yesterday. I hadn't taken her in since she was a few months old (she had her other shots at the health dept.). She has stayed at 22 lbs for a few months now...but getting taller. She was quite the chunky monkey! And still is!!!
Lil D wanted to learn about the jungle so we have many books and crafts to do over the next week...paper bag zebra puppets, animal face masks, paper plate snakes....all the kewl stuff.
Big Z starts golf again tomorrow...dreading the drive and the worst is waiting on him for 1 1/2 hrs with 3 lil kids in the car fussin'...we were kindly hinted not to bring lil ones on the course soooooo...
Sweet A has an awful diaper rash...ugh...I went to Bible study last night and when I returned home she woke up crying...checked her diaper and she'd been dirty without telling dh. (she's almost 3) She'd had to been in that diaper for at least 2-3 hours...poor lil thing...WORST rash any of my kids have ever had including yeast. Then she was outside playing just now and I noticed she was saggin' a bit...yep dirty diaper again. I've had her in cloth all day but she keeps wetting and burning really bad so I thought the pampers would be better.
I bought a couple of kewl books, The Unschooling Handbook by Mary Griffith and Christain Unschooling (can't think of the authors)...look forward to the info and ideas in those.
Well, 2 bathrooms scrubbed top to bottom, most laundry done (not put away), dinner finished (dh stopped by earlier and I fed him), plants watered, kitchen swept and quick mop...I suppose I should go do the dishes now.

Going, going, GONE!
Well, in my opinion the garage sale was a success! Not only did I have great friends to keep me company but my garage is much less cluttered! And I made a little extra cash...which is always nice.
Thanks Angela and Dianne!!! You two made the sale much smoother and certainly more fun! I couldn't have done it without you!
Now...as for catching up on housework...

Do I have to do it again?!
Oh my! I am soooo worn out...2 days down one to go on our garage sale. This is my first real garage sale...usually I give up after a few hours and take it to the church LOL...that's where I take most of my stuff anyway...
First day I had very little sleep, ran like a chicken with my head cut off non stop all day then cleaned the kitchen and bathroom...Second day I woke up at 5 am!!!!! I am NOT a morning person, started cleaning and made a tuna salad for lunch. Sale started at 8 am...kept us hoppin' most of the day. Then.....I invited a friend and her family to stay for dinner which was nice. They were very helpful getting the mess alll cleaned up! One more day.......

Two Thumbs Down
Saturday our family went and saw The Wild...we were not impressed. We wished we would've saw the sequel to Ice Age instead. Oh well, maybe next time...which will be a good long while due to the fact that we were not only disappointed in the flick but our dd 9 mos is teething and fussy and dd 2 1/2 didn't want to sit still. We won't talk about the prices of popcorn, soda, and candy for all of us. ;-)
Although, it was nice to get out of the house on a cloudy, rainy day.

Let's Discover!
I found the coolest books at the Dollar Tree! They're the Let's Discover series by Playmore Waldan...they had Dinosaurs, Insects, Animals, Space, Human Body, and Earth. GREAT facts, activities and even stickers (for all you notebookers). I bought two of each. $12 for all...woohoo!

Welcome Friends!
Okay...I put this off knowing I would be investing some time into creating it...but I'm jumping in with both feet and looking forward to it...my very first blog (to be honest I've never even kept a journal).
I just wanted to give each of you a great big warm welcome to my blog!
Oh boy the kiddos are outside playing in the mud which has now been tracked inside by my 2 yo -all through the entire house! EEEEKKK!! Gotta go!
