An Actual Conversation At Our House Today:
"Mom, can 3 go into 11?"
"No."
"I wish it did, because then the answer to this problem would be right."

The Wait is Killing Me:
Not really. But I seem to be thinking more about Evan's upcoming piano performance than Evan himself. Of course, he is a ten year old boy!
This past weekend, we attended a seminar at our church and Evan played his pieces for the attendees. I was thrilled that he performed them nearly flawlessly under pressure. (He bowed when he was done and ran out of the room while people were still clapping.) I hope he plays that well this week!
Note to Self:
If child #2 says that his stomach hurts, but that he isn't going to throw up, DON'T BELIEVE HIM!
Note to Child #2:
If your stomach hurts and you are finally convinced that you are going to hurl, don't get off your bed and try to make it to the toilet! It is much easier to clean up sheets than carpet.

Oh man, I hate cleaning up vomit. Of course, Drew always seemed to holding the whining toddler when the cookies were lost. God bless hubbies. :-)
On the tastier side, those candy bars look marvelous. They look like healing medicine to me... :-) Best to you in your gluten-free pursuit! It is worth it!

Apr. 25, 2007 - that stomach thing is hard

We have difficulty here at our house too. Sometimes pale lips and an aching tummy mean - "Run, run!!!!" And other times it means "Eat, eat!!! So you won't have to run, run!!!!" My kids seem to have two modes, not hungry and absolutely ravenous. That chocolate looks to be a treat - dairy free too? Oh. My.

Evan,
I'm was so impressed with your piano playing and your professional demeanor while you were playing! It's a lot of hard work but it is already bringing much joy to those who get to hear you play.
I know how your mother feels. I used to feel the same way when she was practicing and playing her cello in competition.
Love,
Grandma Margie
