Today in our Keepers and Contender's classes at Co-Op we had a special guest. She takes in wild animals that need rehabilitation. We learned so much.
Here are a few common things people believe but are not true:
If you pick up a fledgling (baby bird) the mother will not have anything to do with it anymore. (Not True.)
If they are in danger you can pick them up and take them in the house, and then return them where you found them once the danger is gone. (Of course children should never pick up any wild animal, they should go get an adult.)
Remember ABC Anything But COW! Never feed any wild animal cow milk. (Or kayro syrup!)
We also learned that baby oppossums are about the size of a kidney bean when they are born.
