Where the World is Our Classroom

Feb. 8, 2008

Why we have unemployment problems in America!

A friend sent this to me today and I wanted to share it.

John Smith started the day early having set his
alarm
clock

(MADE IN JAPAN ) for 6am.

While his coffeepot

(MADE IN CHINA )

was perking, he shaved with his

electric razor

 (MADE IN HONG KONG ).

He put on a

dress shirt

 (MADE IN SRI LANKA ),

designer jeans

(MADE IN SINGAPORE )

 and

tennis shoes

(MADE IN KOREA )

After cooking his breakfast in his new

electric skillet

 (MADE IN INDIA )

he sat down with his

calculator

 (MADE IN MEXICO )

to see how much he could spend today. After setting his

watch

 (MADE IN TAIWAN )

to the radio

(MADE IN INDIA )

he got in his car

(MADE IN GERMANY )

filled it with GAS

 (from Saudi Arabia )

and continued his search

for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end

of yet another discouraging

 and fruitless day

checking his

Computer

(Made In Malaysia ),

Joe decided to relax for a while.

 He put on his sandals

(MADE IN BRAZIL )

poured himself a glass of

wine

(MADE IN FRANCE )

and turned on his

TV

(MADE IN INDONESIA ),

and then wondered

why he can't find

a good paying job

 in AMERICA

I LOVED THAT! DON'T GET ME WRONG. IT IS PRETTY DEPRESSING TO THINK ABOUT IT BUT IT SPOKE THE TRUTH. ALSO I SAW YOUR HUCKABEE ENDORSEMENT. WAY TO GO. MY STATE HASN'T HAD PRIMARIES YET.

Amazing. You really have to search to find products made in America. Especially scary with all these Chinese lead recalls going on.

Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I hope you don't mind if I copy it and send it out as an e-mail to all my family and friends. This is something I think about every day. It's very sad and we have to wake up and make some changes here in America before it's too late. I have been trying to make some changes in our purchases for the last year. Unfortunately, it's difficult to change everything at once. Little by little does the trick, though. I have hope!

I love your blog and all the pictures you post, by the way.

I have a blog with homeschoolblogger but I don't use it so I thought I would post a link to my blog in case you're interested. :^)
