Craft Night No sew Skirt from pants

Once a month some of us moms try to get together and work on crafts. We usually scrapbook or make cards. But Leah who is very crafty, came over to show us how to make these no sew bell bottoms and skirts.

I began with a pair of pants that were too short for dd. I cut off the bottoms, making it the desired length for the skirt.

Then I cut on the front and back seams. Photobucket We cut up partially on the side seams.

Photobucket This is the cute material I bought to add to it. It cost $1.96 Photobucket We cut out triangles to fit into the cuts we made. Photobucket We then used liquid stitch and glued it in. Photobucket Here is a close up of the reverse side. Photobucket You need to wait about 10 minutes to let it all dry well. Photobucket Here is Lisa's skirt for her dd. Photobucket Here is the finished picture. Photobucket Back side Photobucket Here it is modeled. Photobucket

Nov. 15, 2008 - Really cute

I've read your post about the pants and now the skirt. Very cute and stylish. Just a thought for the part of the pants you cut off -- make them into napkins. Okay, I know you are probably going eeewwww. But seriously, they would make great napkins. I've done that with jeans from my boys, a pair of flannel pjs from the hubby -- anyway to get more "use" out of something. Have a great weekend
