Scrapbook area in my school room.

Along with re-organizing the schoolroom, I also reorganized my scrapbook area.

Photobucket

This lime green shelf my dh painted and put up for me. (Using left over paint from the dining room-if you can believe it.) Those neat little storage boxes came from Dollar General $3.00 each.

I keep paper scraps in them. Photobucket

This is a good view of my scrapbook area. (The table can be used for inviting others over for crops.) Photobucket Here is my stamp station and paper storage. Photobucket

I decided to label the drawers just to make it easier to find everything.

Photobucket

I put my stamp sets in this cabinet.

I am really excited about the fact that now I can actually locate what I am looking for!

Cricut Wall Art

While I was decluttering a closet Friday, I found some frames that used to have Ducky prints in them.

Since I changed out my bathroom I decided it was time to sell the old Ducky set including prints.

So it left me 4 frames. I decided to make these scrapbook pages for Lexi's room.

I used patterned paper that coordinated with her comforter colors, and used the shadow and regular font to make the letter bold. I added in some cute scrapbook accent pieces to them as well.

They turned out really cute. I also made it so that the letters would read straight across if the frames were at different leves.  You can see the prints here.

Photobucket Photobucket

Here it is finished in the frames and hanging on the wall. (I took it at an angle b/c of the reflection but her name really does line up straight across. She loves it and I must say it looks great in her room!

Cricut Creations

Well here are the first two things I made with my new cricut!

Photobucket

I programmed the cricut to cut out these letters and this flower and then attached them

carefully to the card. Later I realized the card was upside down. But at least it was pretty!

This is a tag I made.

New Blog Topper

I decided it was time for a new blog topper. This one has more pictures, and represents all of us better.

I was able to make it with Scrapbook Factory Deluxe. Great program and easy to use!

Displaying scrapbooking pages. My page(s) of the month.

I have many scrapbook albums tucked away on shelves. But I really wanted to be able to display my pages around the house. Really I just like having something besides just ordinary pictures. Something to get conversations going that adds personality.

I recently bought this frame at a Creative Memories party. The frame isn't cheap, but I had to have it.

It has an easle that is built in, or you can use the ribbon and knob and hang it on the wall.

The page area is 8X8. It has magnets that hold the page in place, so it can

be replaced as often as you like. I plan to replace it with a new page each month.

At the end of the year, I will have an 8x8 album with a page for each month.

Photobucket

This is a page I made for the fridge. Instead of having a bunch

of photos all over the fridge, I thought this would look neater.

I can change both of these pages out each month. I took a clear

sheet protector and placed the page in it. Here I just used magnets on

the front side. But I plan to buy some sticky magnets and place them

on the back. So this will be a permanent page on my fridge.

I can just change the pages out as often as I choose.

Photobucket

At the end of the year, I will have a 12X12 album done with a page for each month.

January Highlights

I am trying to scrapbook at least one page per month. One that sort of hits the highlights. I take so many pictures and many times I miss a month or two.

Here is a page I made with my Scrapbook Factory Deluxe software. I plan to print it and add it to my album. I still do traditional pages too.

I met some ladies that meet monthly at a nearby church. There were 12 of us this past Friday night. We met from 6-12:00. Well I started packing my stuff up at 12. I had a great time getting to know them.

I took my stamps and ink to share and my Cuttle Kids cutter. Well, as my daughter reminds me-her Cutttle Kids cutter, that I got her for Christmas and use al the time.

Anyway I found out that you can use the small cutting plates (Ellison) and use other dies. I bought 2 packs of the Provo Craft embossing folders. They are great for making cards and for adding embellishments to scrapbooks. So I took that to share as well.

One of the ladies brought her Cricut to share. So we all used our own paper and cut away.

Others brought punches that we all used.

It is great to scrapbook with other people because we can share supplies,

and no one has to try to own it all.

I can't wait for February's crop!

Friday Night Craft Night

This past Friday some of us gals gathered together to make crafts. Suzie is learning to Knit so she worked on a scarf. Leah helped me stamp and make some Christmas cards.

Dec. 12, 2008

my first handmade pop up card.

This is a card I made for the person who fixed my laptop. It is up and running great on XP now, with Vista gone.

For the envelope, I just used an envelope from greeting card box I had. I glued on the paper (it matches the card paper) then I tied a ribbon onto the paperclip and stuck it on the paper.

Photobucket

For the card I made used a mini file folder template-and made it a little bigger.

Then I added patterned paper to the front.

I used the computer to type Thanks so Much and chalked over it with brown.

Then I ran the edges of the paper through brown ink. ( You really cannot tell it in the picture.)

I added a brown piece of paper, then framed the clip art picture which I also chalked around the edges.

The paperclip holds the card shut, because the inside is a pop up.

Photobucket

The top wording is on mounting tape so it is a little raised.

The picture is mounted on a cardstock piece of paper that I made

into a square and glued to the folder.
