A Little Glimpse of Me

Saturday Notes and Tapestry of Grace

Just a few short days until my family and I head out on a little vacation. Can you guess where we will be going? That's right! Holmes County, Ohio to see the beautiful fall colors and visit our friends the Amish. But before I go, I still have a lot of posts I want to make. Today I would like to talk a little about our main curriculum, Tapestry of Grace.

Tapestry of Grace (a.k.a. TOG) has been such a blessing to me. It allows me to have a weekly plan, while allowing me the flexibility to choose which books, projects and activities my daughters will complete. One thing I love to utilize with TOG is resouces from Homeschool in the Woods.

I own the following from Homeschool in the Woods:

I am using the Early 19th Century CD with Tapestry of Grace Yr. 3 . The projects in this are wonderful and I would like to help you out by starting a chart here to coordinate the CD with TOG. I will add to this as I work my way through TOG, so if this is something your interested in, please check back to this post in the future.

Great schedule! We also have the Homeschool in the Woods Timelines figures. I keep forgetting to use them, since our curriculum came with figures. ...thanks for mentioning them and reminding me.

I look forward to reading next week!

April 7, 2009 - TOG and Time Traveler Stuff

Michelle, I found your blog through the WTM boards. I have a little one going into K this fall and am thinking of using TOG (although might wait until 1st for TOG). I'm curious how you use TT with TOG. Is that something I might want to look into for K or 1st, or is it more suited until later?
Did you not find that TOG had enough for your children to do activity-wise? Thanks for any thoughts. BTW, considering Right Start for this math delinquent mom, too. :-) Why didn't they have manipulatives at the private schools I want to!?!? :-) Blessings! Wendy

Hi Michelle--
I'm still baffled about what to use for next year and remembered posts that you did on tog. I'm drawn to it and have read reviews--they are so scattered, but it seems like it would be a good fit for my family. Can you send me a note reminding me of why you decided to switch?
Thanks so much (for the jillionth time)!
