A Little Glimpse of Me

June 29, 2009

School Year 2009-2010

Well, my plans are made and I am ready to share what we will be using this year for homeschooling. I am really excited about our curriculum as it really radiates Charlotte Mason principles and will be really simple to use.

I will be combining my two youngest daughters (ages 6 & 9) in one program and my two oldest daughters (ages 12 & 15) in another. My oldest daughters focus will be on writing a novel this year as that is her bent and since she is starting high-school this year, her curriculum choices will begin to be more focused on where the Lord has gifted her in, and less on the traditional models of education.

Here is our plan...

Wow, this chart looks so thorough and organized. Are you really doing piano and violin with all four children? How are you implementing the violin? How do you manage to find the time for practice? I am pressed just doing one instrument with two children.

Hi Michelle--I enjoyed reading your blog. So sorry to hear your chickens died. Are you going to try again? Thanks for posting your school plans. I'm wondering about your practice times too. How/when do you fit it all in?

July 8, 2009 - Stumbled upon your blog.....

Hello Michelle...my name is actually Michelle too! I stumbled upon your blog while doing a search for reviews about My Father's World - it looks like it was a number of years ago that you used it. I'm curious if you are still using it and if not how you feel about it looking back? I am a new homeschooler (this is my 2nd year) and we really struggled last year. I'm trying to figure out my daughter's learning style and narrow down my teaching style as well. I also have 2 sons who are 4 and 2 - we will begin to do some preschool work this year, but nothing too heavy.

Anyway - would love to hear your thoughts! You can e-mail me at mlwalls2004@yahoo.com if you have time to do so.

BTW - my hubby is an associate pastor too!

Thanks!
Michelle

Hi --I just stumbled upon your blog. I'm considering HOD but need to know how it would work with a 2nd grader and a kindergartener. Can I choose one package for both like I would in MFW?

Little side-note; I've got 4 girls and a baby boy at the end as well:) Mine are younger, though.

Thanks for your time,
Heather M.
