New Michigan Coordinator!!!
Hello there. I'm Jen Varberg, the new Michigan Coordinator, at your service!
I look forward to providing a lot of important (and not-so-important) information for you that affects all of us homeschoolers and even some non-homeschoolers.
A bit about me: My husband, David and I have two children. My eldest, Josh, was in public schools for 5 years including preschool before I pulled him out. (lots of de-schooling going on!) We are going on our fourth year. Kayla has always been homeschooled, though not by us since we just adopted her last September (2005). Needless to say, we have had a very hectic couple of years getting used to each other!
My passions are for learning, reading, all sorts of crafting (the more 'back to basics', the better), homesteading, writing, knitting, crocheting, reading, cross stitching, growing in Christ, creating websites, researching, did I say reading?...the list goes on.
Speaking of websites, which is my newest passion, I have worked on four of them, though there are two sites that I created that I currently manage as well. One is a my homeschool co-op site and the other is for my church. www.gracehomeschool.com

I have a couple more that will be created in the near future. One is for a new homeschool group in Michigan that is geared toward helping the new homeschooling family.
I am also the Michigan contact person for the Dick DeVos campaign for homeschoolers. He and his wife were a homeschooling family and his passion is protecting us from too much government involvement. I will post more information in the future about that.
On another note, we are looking for contributors for the Michigan blog. If you would like to contribute information about what is going on in your area of the state, please contact me at admin@gracehomeschool.com and I will be happy to add your information to this blog!
