I write to request your assistance in spreading the word to home educators about the August 20, 2007, Hoogland Center for Teacher Excellence seminar on the topic, "The Cold War: Understanding America's Clash with Communism." The seminar will be held at Oscar A. Carlson High School in Gibraltar, Michigan. There still exist many spaces for this exciting program--although there's not much time left to register!
I am pleased to extend a special invitation to home school families that not only parents consider participating in the program but also that they consider enrolling their high school students in thisseminar. It is designed to be of benefit to those with with interests in world history, American history, and political thought. This seminar costs only $15.00, and includes reading materials and lunch. The Hoogland Center for Teacher Excellence (CTE) is a national civic education program dedicated to reinvigorating civic education with the same spirit of liberty that animated America's founding. Founded in 2001, the CTE has coordinated seminars, workshops, and in-service training for thousands of teachers from nearly forty states. More information about the seminar, including a complete schedule and registration information, is available on-line at www.hillsdale.edu/cte. If you prefer to register by telephone, call toll-free at 866.824.6831. Please call or write with any questions (e-mail cte@hillsdale.edu).
Please kindly share this information with any those in your network of home educators.
Sincerely,
