September Mushroom Walk
|
A big thanks to Tricia O. for forwarding this great information!
Hello, all. The below Mushroom field trip is an amazingly beautiful adventure for the nature loving family. My children and I went last year, and it was a peaceful treat. There were baby deer and many other wild life creatures nearby observing us as we observe the mushrooms.
If you intent to bring home any specimens (only if picked to observe on the tour and non-poisenous) , bring a mesh bag to do it with. As you walk, it will spread spores in the woods to continue the mushroom's survival. It should be another beautiful mushroom year, as the rain just left us with a bounty.
SEPTEMBER MUSHROOM WALK (meet at the park):
September 16th (Sunday) 2:00 p.m. at Tenhave Woods (Lexington Blvd & Marias)- Mushroom Walk- A mushroom survey of the park will be lead again this year by Diane Pruden. There may also be a chance to sample some of the edible types that we find.
All Nature Walks and Speaker Programs are free and open to everyone. Pre-registration is not required.
