We'll have ample time to address your specific family situations and I'll help you make a plan you can take back home once you are rested and re-energized.
The details of where and when can be found here, on the Brave Writer website. The tuition is $39.99 for early-bird registration and $49.99 at the door. We need a minimum of 40 registrants in advance to make this happen.

Parenting for Purity Night - to date or to court?
Parenting for Purity Night - to date or to court?
Please forward this email to your friends, family, church or school groups.
Join us with Tom Houck, the author of Parenting for Purity for a night of biblical instruction and discussion.
From toddlers to teens, parents must teach their children how to avoid sexual immorality, heartbreak, and divorce. Parenting for Purity provides parents with detailed, step-by-step instructions to help them do just that.
If you want your child to remain pure until marriage, you must also equip them with the tools to succeed - this means learning emotional purity, which is the foundation for physical purity. If you've wondered whether your child should date or court, or if modern dating is helpful to marriage or is divorce practice, this night is for you! Learn the difference between legalistic rules and biblical principles.
Join other like-minded families for a great night of fellowship. There will be refreshments, and child care available with advance registration.
When: Friday, October 12 at 7:00pm
Where: Oakland Christian Church
5100 N. Adams Road
Oakland Township, MI 48036
Registration: The cost is free. Advance registration is required through email or by contacting Lisa at 248.332.6691. An early response is appreciated to help with planning.

THE HEART OF HOMESCHOOLING CONFERENCE: FRIDAY & SATURDAY, SEPT. 7-8
Join other homeschooling parents in Lansing this fall at our 2ND ANNUAL CONFERENCE about heart issues: "The Heart of Homeschooling" Set aside September 7 & 8 to start your "school year" with a focus on what matters most. Experience a vision of what God wants to do in us, our children, our family, our churches, our culture, and our nation - and how He can use homeschooling to accomplish it all!!
WHY are you homeschooling and WHAT is it you hope to accomplish in the lives of your children? "The Heart of Homeschooling" Conference is a time to be reminded of what God is after in the hearts of you and your children! Plan on joining us at the beginning of the new "schoolyear" for a time of great encouragement as we embark on our homeschool journey together.
SPEAKERS:
Skeet Savage
Founder of Wisdom's Gate, Editor of HOME SCHOOL DIGEST, An Encouraging
Word, and Brush Arbor Quarterly, and author of the book, Homeschooling for Eternity. Skeet began homeschooling here in Michigan in the 1970s and successfully home educated six children against numerous odds, the least of those being that she didn't graduate from high school and went through a divorce. In the face of court battles, social service visits, and the threat of having children removed from the home for being "truant" she stood firm and helped to pave the way for the modern homeschool movement. Skeet is able to minister empathetically to those facing difficult obstacles such as homeschooling in the face of opposition, domestic violence, poverty, dyslexia and serious health problems because she has walked through those trials herself and came through a victor, not a victim. Her powerful messages are built consistently on a strong, Biblical foundation and delivered in her warm, down-to-earth (and often humorous) style. Skeet's hard-hitting, no-compromise approach is seasoned with the wisdom of age and the love of the Lord that draws people to open their hearts and receive the convicting messages she brings.
Israel Wayne
Israel Wayne, Skeet's son, is a homeschooled graduate who currently serves as the Marketing Director for Wisdom's Gate. He is a regular columnist for HOME SCHOOL DIGEST and the author of the book Homeschooling from a Biblical Worldview. Israel is a leading expert for his generation in the area of defending the faith and developing Biblical worldview and is the site editor for www.ChristianWorldview.net. He is a popular conference speaker, and a frequent guest on national radio programs discussing home education and cultural issues from a Biblical perspective. IsraelIsrael and Brook are currently home educating their four young children. Israel desires to see God's people learn to think and live Biblically. Aiming for both the head and the heart, Israel's goal is to challenge audiences to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. In his words, "God's Word applies to all areas of life. There is not one facet of our existence which does not fall under the direct claim of Lordship by Jesus Christ. This includes how we spend our money, what entertainment we consume, how we educate our children, how we use our time, etc. All of life must be understood from within a Biblical worldview".
TOPICS:
Friday Afternoon Workshops for Teens: (and their Parents)
-- The Dating Game By Israel Wayne
In this message Israel shares candidly from his own teen years, giving a blueprint for developing the right kind of relationships. He will highlight the difference between the "Dating Culture" and a "Family Culture".
--Waiting For True Love By Israel Wayne Everyone wants to find a love that will last a lifetime. This session helps encourage teens to hold out for God's best.

--Homeschooling: God's Plan for Discipleship By Skeet Savage This session will firm up your understanding of homeschooling from a Biblical perspective and equip you with a solid foundation for homeschooling out of unwavering conviction.
--Homeschooling: Preference or Conviction? By Israel Wayne Why do you homeschool? When your children are grown, what will define success for you? What is a Biblical philosophy of education? This presentation will help you to focus on what is really important and to discover God's purposes for home education.
--Revival in the Home By Israel Wayne
This workshop addresses unnecessary pitfalls into which many families
fall. Every parent makes mistakes in raising children but there are things that we can learn that will help us to be effective in leaving a lasting legacy of faithfulness. Discover some of the most common reasons why some children leave the faith and what you can do to help ensure that your children are not casualties to unbelief.
--Planting the Right Seeds, Reaping the Harvest By Skeet Savage An
evaluation of your parenting methods and style, along with practical
instruction on how to genuinely possess and effectively communicate the qualities that you hope to instill in others -- especially your own children.
--Homeschooling From A Biblical Worldview By Israel Wayne
Are your children prepared to face the "Real World"? Do you know what your worldview is? How are you going to transfer it to your children? Will you be more effective than the media and popular culture? Learn how to equip your children to stand against the flood of secularism that threatens to drown them. Discover how to teach your children to view the core subjects and all of life, through the lenses of Scripture.
--Homeschooling for Eternity: The Big Picture By Skeet Savage This session clearly establishes the fact that it's really not about us --

Dear Mothers,
I am a Michigan homeschooling mom and over a year ago I went with my daughters to a "Strong in the Lord" conference in Wisconsin . It was well worth the drive for it was the most wonderful ministry for young ladies and mothers that I have ever encountered. The wholesome atmosphere, their love for the Lord and the quality teachings are beautiful. I enjoyed it so much that I pursued having the Bright Light's Team come to Michigan and have a conference here. It is open to the community, I hope you can come - please tell your friends!
Blessings!
