Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Candy updates.....
I'm sorry I haven't been on in forever! Ever since getting Candy I have been sooo busy between going to Caitlyn's and riding and training and all the other things plus school! But hopefully by summer dad will have a pasture built and he is planning on buying a stable instead of building one (which would take a million years if you knew my dad! ). Anyways, since we moved Candy to Regina's house (she is my homeschool group gym teacher and Cait is her daughter who owns a pony) I have been going over pretty much everyday and working with her; riding and training. She has definately improved and I'm sooooo happy with how quickly her ground manners have improved! She used to bully you and run you over but then we worked on a "personal space" excercise where everytime you feel the horse getting too close or running you over you swing the end of the rope (which is specially made as long as a longe line only cotton and has leather ends) and yell "pssst" until the horse takes two steps back. Then they learn to not run you over and also to back up when you say "pssst"; but she's doing MUCH better! And she's also gaining weight! She was thin and you could see every single rib and her hips were really square and sticking out but now she's more filled in although you can still see most of her ribs. But she's on unlimited hay and special feed to gain weight. WOW! I just remembered! I don't think I showed you guys any pictures! But if you want to see pictures go to her website www.freewebs.com/x0x_CandyApple_x0x and go to the Photo Album. And while your there leave a "hoofprint" in the Guestbook! Welp, gotta go!

Monday, February 20, 2006 I'M GETTING A HORSE!!!! *CHEERS*
:type: I am soooooooo excited I can barely type fast enough! 8O Okay! I AM BUYING A HORSE!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D I'm buying a horse!!!!! My very first horse! I feel like I'm gonna burst! :D There's this guy who goes to our church and he (and his parents) own horses and he was sellin his one cause he got a new one. It's a bay Standardbred mare, about 15hh (I guessed cause she looks about the size as Mickey). Her name is Lady. I'm changing it though *vote in poll below*. :) She is sooooo cute and pretty! And she looks adorable with her winter fur coat! :-D He rode her western so I am probably buyin the saddle off of him for $125, which is pretty good cause it's leather.....although it's plain (no carving really) but it's pretty good lookin! And then later I wanna get an English saddle. And she's a good horse for ridin bareback, I rode her around a little (bareback) and sat on her while she grazed. She's really gentle and calm. And she has a star on her forehead. He didn't really have a set price but he was gonna sell her for $2,000 but said for us he'd sell cheaper! Plus I believe she is registered, because she has a tatoo'd number on her lip and her neck, he said he didn't have papers but that we could get them if we looked up the number or somethin like that. But I don't care about dumb papers. I'm just soooo excited! I don't have any pictures (sorry guys! lol :-) ) but I will get some. And we won't be able to move her to our place till spring probably because we don't have anything set up for a horse. But anyways please vote for name you prefer! *below*
Thanks!

Wednesday, February 15, 2006 Relient K - In Like a Lion <----looooove this song!
Relient K - In Like a Lion from album Apathetic EP (<----clicky for the CD)
Its always nice to look out the window And see those very first few flakes of snow And later on we can go outside And create the impression of an angel that just fell from the sky When February rolls around Ill roll my eyes Turn a cold shoulder to these even colder skies And by the fire my heart it heaves a sigh For the green grass waiting on the other side
Its always winter but never Christmas It seems this curse just cant be lifted Yet in the midst of all this ice and snow Our hearts stay warm cause they are filled with hope
Itd be so nice to look out the window And see the leaves on the trees begin to show The birds would congregate and sing A song of birth a song of newer things The wind would calm and the sun would shine Id go outside and Id squint my eyes But for now I will simply just withdraw Sit here and wish for this world to thaw
Its always winter but never Christmas It seems this curse just cant be lifted Yet in the midst of all this ice and snow Our hearts stay warm cause they are filled with hope
And everything it changed overnight This dying world you brought it back to life And deep inside I felt things Shifting everything was melting Away oh away
And You gave us the most beautiful of days
Cause when its always winter but never Christmas Sometimes it feels like Youre not with us But deep inside our hearts we know That You are here and we will not lose hope
I looooooove this song! I think it should have been in the Chronicles of Narnia. That's what it's about. Just heard it on the radio a few mins ago! Well, gotta go, talk to ya'll l8r!

Saturday, February 11, 2006 Sig

These are Lori's horses.
GG is a 2 years old (1 y/o in this pic) and is now a Marble Appy (Appaloosa).
Cali is a Leopard Appy and in this pic is only hours old, but she's now one. Girlie is the chesnut horse and she is both Cali and GG's dam (mother); she's ridden western.
Tuxedo is the horse Lori rides; he is both Cali and GG's sire (father); he's ridden English.
Mickey is the horse I rode (I just quit lessons from Lori*). He is a 15hh Paint gelding (a male horse that can't breed). I rode him western and alittle bareback. He makes an excellent trail riding horse but in the arena he hates cantering...*rolls eyes* lol!
Whitey is a 13 or 14hh pony and I also ride him; I rode him western. Bareback would be too dangerous cause he loves to buck like 10 times in a row at the beginning of every ride! lol! But then Mickey rears when he gets agitated. LOL!
Well, that's all Lori's horses. She also has a Doberman Pinscher dog named Melonie and a Chocolate Lab named Trina. And also an albino horse named Soda that I rode twice, western. But I don't have any pics of him...that I can find anyways. Welp, talk to ya'll l8r!
Nickers and neighs, Sarah
*I quit taking lessons from Lori because 1) she isn't very dependable, 2) she was having stable problems and had to move her horses (too far away probably, and 3) even if I did stay with her I wouldn't be riding till spring or later because she hasn't found a place to board her horses yet. |

Saturday, February 11, 2006 Duke update
Duke is doin fine now! We just picked him up today at 11am. Nothing is broken but he's sore and has some road-rash and bruises underneath and 3 little cuts on his leg and is on pain killers. Other than that he's fine. Yesterday he had a fever of 100 from the cold and was in shock...mom & dad found him along the road so I guess he was thrown, and if that guy wouldn't have stopped we probably would have found him too late. I'm just sooooo glad he's okay! I my little Dukester!

Friday, February 10, 2006 Just thinking...aids & abortion...what do ya think?
*Quote [by horse_whispers]* Okay yes I guess I did overreact but it is true. Answer this for me: would you want to be given aids just because of overpopulation? Put yourself in their shoes. How would ya feel? Everybody has diff opinions but this is mine: giving other ppl aids because of overpopulation is wrong. I am a Christian and I believe it is not our business to kill ppl because of overpopulation and stuff like that. God can take care of that himself...in fact he's the one that created everything including you and me. It's his business. And I also don't believe this world will be around in another 100 years or so. I may be wrong but I just believe it won't. Read the Bible in Revelation...all the signs of the end times are coming! All the natural catastrophes like that big tsunami that happened over a year (I think) ago in Asia or somewhere around there were hundreds of thousands of people were killed. In America there are more and more hurricanes. And if you guys have ever watched some of those special movies they have on ABC (I think it's that station...) like 10.5 (played about a year ago about worlds largest earthquake in California; fiction) and Category 7 (worlds largest storm system; fiction) those will be happening soon. In fact we had a new record for hurricanes this year I think...correct me if I'm wrong. But the Bible says more natural disastors and every prediction is happening. Israel being split. Don't tell me it is coinsedense (sp?), it's real! The end is coming! And soon I believe! And whoever are not saved and don't believe in Jesus and the true God are going to be left behind and the Christians will be taken up into heaven at the rapture. And then comes the Tribulation Period which lasts 7 years. Some Christians believe God will allow non-believers that have been left behind to have another chance and get saved, some think there won't be anymore chances. And during those 7 years horrible things will happen; worse than you can imagine! Well, for more details just read Revelation in the Bible. Sorry if this might be alittle off-topic but I read what hunter~jumper said and had to put my two cents in. But I hope what I've just said gets through to ya guys. But I believe the Bible. There's proof that it is the answer, the truth. Talkin about abortion, same idea. If God doesn't want ya to have the baby he will deal with it himself. But if you are pregnant and don't want your baby then don't abort it! Simply put it up for adoption. And if you're a mother that has aborted your baby then you know what damage it can do to yourself. The depression. Like what Trailguide said. I fully agree with her. Well there ya have it! My opinion! *Un-Quote*
Okay, this was a very interesting thread that was posted at www.horselover.net forum titled Aids and Abortion. If you want to read everything here's the link: http://horselover.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2356&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0. Please leave comments and let me know what you think about everything I said. (BTW horse_whispers is my screen name of Horse Lover forum and Trailguide and hunter~jumper are also other members, I copied this off of what I had said on there.)
Thanks!

Friday, February 10, 2006 My poor baby :(
Well today was going normal until at about 2:30 or 3 pm this guy pulled down our driveway so my mom went outside. When he left and she came back in she told me he saw a little dog was lying in the road and thought maybe it was ours...so mom and dad went up to the road to see and the whole time I was praying that it wasn't him. See, he's lately been going across the road to our amish neighbors house and so we started tying him up again but I forgot...ugh stupid me! Well, turns out it was my precious little Duke. But *THANK YOU GOD!* he is alive! We called the vet and drove him there but there may be internal damage and a broken pelvis...I hope there is nothing major that they can't help him. I now know how much I really do love him even though sometimes (more like lots) he can get on my nerves and be very bad. I don't know what I would do without him! Well, updates about him later, my mom is supposed to call at 5:30pm to see how he's doin.
