• May. 21, 2009 - Hello all and thoughts

Posted By kate

Hello to all those reading this!!!!! Sorry I haven't written in forever, but I am here to correct this situation! Beware! Complete BLAH of thoughts are going to come out in this post!

Something that has been on my mind lately......

Item number one - guys should dress and act like guys

Explanation - At my youth and around the town in which I live, there are alot of guys that just don't really dress like guys! No offense to you guys who wear them, but I think skinny jeans on a guy are just kinda silly! This may be a little bold, but in them, ya'll have no secrets, they are really....um....distracting to us girls, and just not very....flattering (for lack of a better word). In my personal opinion, guys should wear loose fitting jeans and shorts. Not so loose fitting that all the world can see your underwear hanging out but loose enough that all world doesn't know how big around your calves and thighs are just by looking at your pants!! And guys, I don't care how "submissive" you are, but you are going to end up trying to show off. Skinny jeans are very restictive...I know this from personal experience! I gave away my only pair because I hated how I couldn't do anything in them!
All I am saying here is that guys - WEAR GUYS CLOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Don't buy GIRLS pants just so you can show off just how skinny your calves are! Please, wear looser pants....we don't wanna see that!
Another thing is that guys should just act like guys! Be masculine - that's a GOOD thing! Girls "like-like" (I can't believe that I am 17 and still say "like-like") guys that are masculine. Just be a guy! I may post the lyrics to one of my favorite songs on here....the song is "I'm Still a Guy" by Brad Paisley. It's a really good song - I love it! :) But it just seems that alot of guys are just not masculine. And, I must admit that we girls are never satisfied....sorry to break it to you guys but a girl likes her guy to be masculine but not too masculine. Being masculine kinda shows us that you are not afraid to get in a fight BUT it has to be for the right reason! We don't want our guys flairing up at everything for goodness sakes, but we like to know that our guy is tough, can get the job done, and is a "Real Man" hahaha! Plus, I am breaking the secret "girls' code at the moment I think, but sometimes, girls play the "damsel in distress" because we like to be saved by our guy or just a guy. If our car breaks down, we may know exactly what is wrong with it and know exactly how to fix it, but if the guy we like is in the car with us, we're not gonna do a thing to let on that we know what to do....that's ya'll's job! :D That is the way we think.....we know that you guys like to be in charge. I don't care how tight your jeans are....if the girl you like is "in distress" *fanfare* you become that perfect Knight in Shining Armor or at least try your hardest to be! :) And girls really like that! :) BUT we aren't going to want to play the "damsel in distress" if we think that you are "masculine enough" to fix it. Being masculine is a very good thing! :) hehe!

Item # two: Girls - leave something up to the imagination!!!!

Explanation: Alot of the girls I see, Christian girls as well, wear immodest clothing that leave nothing to the...er...imagination. Sorry, being blunt again, but some of these shirts some girls wear, I can see straight down their shirts!! I get distracted by their mini-skirts and low-cut shirts - I can't imagine how distracting that must be to guys! Another thing, is that girls should leave something up to a boy's imagination! I know that may sound weird and makes you think "They shouldn't be imagining anything!!!!" But better they imagine it instead of you just showing everything to them!! Girls are always "complaining" about how "guys are such pigs because all they think about it girls' butts and chests" and it bugs some of my girlfriends to no end! It bugs me to no end when a girl walks by in her tiny skirt, itty-bitty, low-cut tanktop and then complains about guys looking at her butt and not recognizing her for an actual person!! Sorry, but THEY CAN'T HELP IT!!!!! Just as girls can't really help it when on the big screen in a movie theater, a buff guy is "showing off his muscles" we can't help but like what we see and we look!! Don't try and deny it, you girls who are reading this post! Admit it! :) That is the way God made us and guys! If you don't want guys "oogling" after you, DON'T SHOW THEM SOMETHING TO OOGLE AT!!!! Wear some longer shorts so that your butt isn't hanging out, cover the cleavage . If there is an "oh so cute" top that you just HAVE to get but it's a bit low cut, get a cami to go with it! Cover 'em up!

Ok - that is my "speal" for now! Post thought...don't be scared....I want to hear ya'll's thoughts on this!!!!

• Apr. 5, 2009 - Pride and Predjudice vs. Pride and Prejudice

Posted By kate
Hello to all!

Man! I haven't written in a VERY long time!! :P I need to not do that anymore but it's been so hectic around our house lately that I haven't had the time to post anything.

So, as a re-entrance into the blogging world, I am going to post three reasons that I like the new "Pride and Prejudice" movie with Kierra Knightley better than I like the "Pride and Prejudice" movie with Colin Firth. You may laugh because all three of my reasons have to do with the three men who 'go after' Lizzy - Mr. Darcy, Mr. Collins, and Mr. Wickham.

1: We shall start with Mr. Collins since he just cracks me up sometimes! In the 2005 version, Mr. Collins is played by the five foot, five inches tall Tom Hollander (right). I liked him much better than Tom Bamber (left) who played Mr. Collins in the 1995 A&E movie. The main reason, is because Hollander is so short compared to six foot two Matthew Macfadyen who plays Mr. Darcy. It makes him seem a bit more ridiculous I guess. Also, Mr. Hollander’s facial expressions are so much better than Mr. Bamber’s. I just ‘like’ the 2005 Mr. Collins much better than the 1995 Mr. Collins! Hehe

2. Now, we shall move on to Mr. Wickham, played in the 2005 version by Rupert Friend (left). For women, especially, he seems much more easily trusted than the 1995 Mr. Wickham, Adrian Lukis. Friend also seemed much more proud and ‘truer’ than Lukis. His laugh was good and with his fair skin and blonde hair, he seemed much more the type that one would ‘pick on’. Whereas tall and dark Lukis seems much more guarded and you feel that you can’t trust him. He smiles like a snake and doesn’t play ‘the lady’s man’ quite so well as Rupert Friend.

3: Now, now, we shall move on to the most loved hero in the Jane Austen novels – the wonderful Mr. Darcy. The 2005 Mr. Darcy is played by Matthew Macfadyen right) while the 1995 version is played by Colin Firth (left). Now, I must say that Colin Firth is an amazing actor and is a definite a man who loved by many ladies. Equal in height with Matthew Macfadyen (6’2”), it is difficult to convey why I like Macfadyen as Darcy better than Firth. One thing is, that, I don’t like that Firth never smiles until the very end of the movie just before he kissed Lizzy while Macfadyen smiles a few times and that (if I may say so without being pegged as a silly girl) just makes your stomach go crazy with butterflies!!! Hehe! Macfadyen also just seems so much more like the Darcy one reads of in the novel “Pride and Prejudice”! I must say that MM just seems to play Mr. Darcy much better than Firth, although I still love Colin Firth’s movies! J

There, I will leave you, my readers, with this to comment on for the time being!

• Dec. 24, 2008 - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Posted By kate

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"

Hello to all! I hope ya'll are having an awesome Christmas so far. MAN! I can't belive it's already here! Seems like it was just Thanksgiving Day! Tonight my family and I are going to church and then coming home to open presents from family. Then, Sarah and I will most likely fall dead asleep on the couches, wake up too early the next morning and open the presents from 'Santa".

All our Christmases are amazing! One year, we had a whole slew of people over and we ate a huge meal, laughed all night, told jokes and just goofed off! This year, Sarah and I had a Christmas Dance with a whole bunch of our friends. We danced all night, laughed, played games and had a complete blast! :) It was amazing! LOL

If ever they invent a Time Machine, I want to go back in time to that first Christmas in Bethlahem. Wouldn't that be amazing to see the baby Jesus born and Mary and Joseph? To have been with the shepards when the angel came and told them to go to the stables and see the Christ child? Knowing that the baby in the feeding troph would save the entire world from Hell?! That would just seem amazing to me!!!!

Well, I need to go now. I hope ya'll have an amazing Christmas!!!

• Nov. 4, 2008 - new guy in the white house

Posted By kate

Alright, so, as much as I hate to say this but, Barack Obama won. I was routing for John McCain but I guess the country thought differently. My dad says to look at the bright side-all those people who say that America is a racist country have to just 'shut up and color' because we are the first country in history to elect a minority. I just don't see how we could have voted for a man who doesn't  do what he says! grr....Well, I'll deal with it! I'm not in public school and when I have kids, they won't be in public school either. But I still don't like it! I wish I had had a say in the matter! Here we have one of the most crucial elections in history and I can't do anything about it. All I can do is wait to see what happens. :P

Its funny, because I normally always write books about someone who is trusted by all but then there is a group of people who oppose that trusted person. For once, my books are reflecting my life! :) I'm sorta scared to see what happens over the next four years! I guess a thing I can look forward to is that I get to vote to get him out in four years! And so will many of my friends! :)

well, I'll let you guys go! :) Pray!

After church today, I was thinking...something that I wouldn't really recomend. You can easily scare yourself with such things as thoughts!

Anyway....in today's sermon (which was very good), the pastor said that we are constantly bombarded with sin and the want to sin. That brought the thoughts. I was thinking that my mind is a castle fortress. I am constantly fighting back thoughts of a sinful nature that bang at my drawbridge and try to storm the keep. They fight and fight to get inside and take my mind in the name of the devil but I fight. I defend my keep in the Name of God and keep them back. When there is the rare time that they are not attacking, I fortify my walls with Bible verses and His Love. They attack again but it never seems easier. Some do but others are always coming after me. Stealing isn't such a difficult foe to fight but there are others.

Then there are quests for me to go on. The quest to Honor my Mother and Father is one I particullarly have trouble with. It seems that there is always the temptation to run the other way even though I know I cannot win that fight. I seem to always be argueing about something stupid with my parents or I'll turn back into a three-year-old and push my boundaries until I get shocked by their punishment.

I always put life into the form of a battle or some kind of medieval situation. Some of my favorite verses in the Bible are the ones going over the Armor of God. He equips me with the garments of battle that He knows I will have to face sooner or later. I am learning that being a child is so much easier. of course God is real. Why? Because He is....duh!! Everything was cut and dry and easy. You woke up and watched shows but didn't extract anything from them really, you played long and hard, you danced with no one and didn't care who saw, you would sing out loud and strong, confident in the voice behind the words, your teddy bear/horse/dog/whatever that special toy was when you were little was your best friend and he talked back to you and answered your questions and the list goes on. Now, you pull yourself from bed, hating that its already morning. You think of playing but are busy doing homework. You may dance but only when forced and you wonder who is watching and are painfully aware of who you are dancing with. You might forget about the singing in the shower but wonder what you sound like to the ears listening. And that special toy has gone silent. They may still be on your bed or you can still see him/her but if you do have a crazy moment and talk to him, he just sits there, staring blankly at you, silent and still. I just think it is so weird how that happens. Is that maturing or is it growing up? What is the difference? Why do we have to do it? I want to stop! NOW!!! Maybe that is what inspire James Barry, the writer of Peter Pan. Neverland....a place where you never grow older. Everything would seem simpler, wouldn't it?

Well, I will leave you now. May the stars watch over you and when the sun fades, may you be warm in your beds!

Nothing much is going right now...my dad had to have surgery so he's been down for the past week. School is going slowly and I'm wanting this year to end. I'm not sure why but I want a new year to figure things out, and understand them. I want to start again. Thats something I always think of when a new year rolls around - a new year to meet friends, a new year to learn things, and many other things. It seems like a new slate to me.

Well, I guess I'll go now....nothing more to say! :)

Lizzy hid in the shadows but was not sure why she did. After all, he was her friend and there was nothing to say that he would hurt her in any way. Maybe the reason she hid wasn't him; maybe it was fear of change. She didn't know why but she still hid.

Warno passed by the bush she was hiding in, making Lizzy crouch closer to the soft earth. She could only see his calves and waited until he passed by. A sigh of relief escaped her when his footsteps disappeared into the distance.

She had to stop this. She had to find out why she was hiding.

this is just something that popped into my head and I thought I'd write it here. It isn't connected to anything!

see ya'll!

Once again I have placed a book on my shelves with a sense of accomplishment and sadness. I have just finished reading Christopher Paolini's new book "Brisinger" and I have one thing to say about it...

ITS HIS BEST BOOK YET!!!!!! SO AMAZING, PERFECT, THRILLING AND WONDERFUL, I COULD HARDLY PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!! READ IT NOW!! STOP READING AND GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF A COPY....HARDBACK! ITS WORTH IT! IN FACT, BUY A FEW COPIES SO THAT YOU CAN SPREAD THE MADNESS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD!!!! WORLD DOMINATION!!!!!! LONG LIVE ERAGON AND SAPHIRA!!!!

Ok, sorry about that! hehehehe! But, seriously, its an amazing book and is a must read! I laughed, cried, screamed, got angry, and now I want to run out, grab a sword and fight Galbatorix even though he's not real! :) Congrats, Mr. Paolini.....you have made it onto my 'people i look up to' list!!! hehehe! But beware....you have two (at least) girls who will be fighting against you on the Best Seller's List! bwhahhaa! here come Hannah and Kate, mighty fighters in the fantasy realm! :)

read it! "Brisinger" is one of the most amazing books I've read....and I've read alot! :) Its packed full of adventure, hardships, tests of faith, love, and millions of other things! You will be surprised, thrilled, tested, annoyed - but all these feeling should show you just how amazing the book is!! To reach into a reader's heart is to reach to their core! :) READ IT!!!! if you haven't read "Eragon" and "Eldest" READ THEM AS WELL!!! One thing that I must warn you about is for "eldest" you patience will be tested! :)

Well, I leave you now, to wonder which book i will read next as now I am in need of a new one! Any suggestions?

• Sep. 26, 2008 - joke

Posted By kate

My philosophy teacher told this joke in class yesterday and since it sorta goes along with what I last posted about, I thought I would tell it here!! hehehe

A cowboy is sitting at a bar when a young woman sits on his right.

"are you a real cowboy?" she asked.

"Well, I'm not sure what you mean by a real cowboy but I grew up on a ranch, have branded cattle and so on so, yeah, I guess I'm a real cowboy." he answers.

"I'm a lesbian" she states. "No matter what I do, I always seem to be thinking about women - when I wake up, I think of women, when I shower, I think of women. So I'm a lesbian!"

The cowboy just sorta stares at her and when a couple comes in later and asks him "Are you a real cowboy?", the cowboy answers, "Yeah, and I just found out I'm a lesbian too!"

Thought this was very funny and that ya'll might enjoy it! :)

see ya'll!
