I am always looking for ways to save money on groceries. I am also always looking for ways to SIMPLIFY grocery shopping.   To me, the simplest way is to just go through the store and throw whatever looks good into the basket , but obviously that makes no sense money-wise or for making sure I have stuff on hand for meals.   I am working on a master list right now, and a master menu.
