The Love of a Child

On the mornings that I am not up and out of bed before the girls, my 5yo daughter will come in the room and get in bed with me. She snuggles up close and we say the usual "Good morning" and "How did you sleep?" etc. Of course we say I love you and smile sweetly at each other.

One morning last week after our usual conversation she said "Mom, I love you more than cats and princess stuff." Now THAT is probably the height of a 5yo girl's love  At least my 5yo. She then went on to assure me that she loves Jesus even more

I am going to miss these times when she gets older and the way we show and speak our love changes somewhat. Or maybe they never really get too old for that kind of love, I know I don't.

Hi, Tiffany,

Thanks for your little note. I'll add you to my friends, too. (: I wish I weren't so undisciplined. I get so emotionally weary sometimes, and it's much easier to kick back and know that I'm not alone than it is to do something constructive. I've been really good for about a year. I'm not sure what got me off track with using the board too much.

Warmly,
Lori

I still love my mom and am really affectionate with her. It's about time I go and give her another footrub, I think. (:
