Many, many years ago we had a family website. Actually, it is still there, but most of it is so outdated that I will not link to it. It has been fun to read some of the things I have on it though. I did this website way back in the olden days when one had to learn html coding. I bought a couple books and set up a sight on Geocities (before they merged with Yahoo) and created a sight. I don't remember the exact year we began this site, but I do remember being pregnant with Jonathan while doing some work on it. I also had posted a very detailed account of his birth. I am thinking I will either get the site updated or just drop the site and post some of my favorite things here. I had updated the site a few years ago using some new web designer program, but I don't really like what I did. What to do, what to do, and when to do it, which might be the bigger question.

I will start by sharing "Our Family Internet Guidelines". This is copied from the website and was written many years ago.

Also, for fun, if you look to the right for our categories and click on Our Family you will be taken to a glimpse into the Smith Family past.

Parents, please remember that you alone are responsible for what your child is exposed to. We have set strict standards in our home for what we allow our children to be exposed to. We believe that God will hold us, as parents, accountable for the influences that we allow into our children's lives.

Don't rely solely on a filtering provider (and we do recommend using a filtered provider) do to the job for you. God may very well have called you to a higher standard than the filters carry.

We are careful about television, movies, music and the internet in our home. We do not trust anyone else to tell us what is safe or not. As parents, we make the decisions.

This list is a brief overview of our internet guidelines.

Internet use only with a parent in the room supervising.
Have a purpose for going online...know what you are looking for, no wandering around.
Children may go to bookmarked sites and sites that are linked here on our website. They may not go to links within those sites unless given permission.
Children may not do searches, parent must do the search. You wouldn't beleive what we came across while doing a Winnie the Pooh search.
Mail directed to the children is read by the parents first.
NO, and we mean for all of us, NO chat rooms.

You know, when I find something I like I do tend to go a bit overboard. I found blinkies this weekend. Oh my, they are so fun. I have added blinkies to my sidebar and I will keep adding them as I find them. I like blinkies because it tells a little bit about who I am. Enjoy my blinkies!
