The Count Down Has Begun
For those of you who have kept in contact with me by other means already know about the count down. For everyone else, the count down is until I drop down to part-time and begin earnestly awaiting an imminent move from night shift to day shift.
5 weeks!!
J began working full-time at the bank in October, which is much sooner than we thought he would be able to secure a permanent full-time position. On the same day he received the offer for the position, I was informed that it was my turn to go to days if I wanted it. The Lord has really blessed us and we are very thankful.
The past 2 months have been a challenge to say the least. I think we have done quite well with the Lord's guidance and strength. Our families have been a great help. The boys have worked very hard and have been self motivated with their school work. We have done very well to stay on track even with me being tired and in a lot of pain.
I haven't worked part-time since J was 4 months old and that was only for a brief 2 month period before I had to start working full-time. I have never worked a day shift. In fact during our entire 11 1/2 year marriage one of us has worked night shift. We are excited to become a normal family with normal sleep cycles.
I know I will have more time at home. I'm looking forward to having a more consistent schedule, more energy, and better quality time with my family. I know I won't be able to accomplish everything I would like to, but I will be able to accomplish more than I do now. By going part-time I will be able to split my days and only rarely work back to back. I'm sure this is going to help me keep up on the housekeeping and homeschooling much better. As it is now, I work a marathon to clean the house, complete the weekly chores and errands, and complete the bulk of the homeschooling in 2 or 3 days each week, only to be working for 3 days and 1 day turning myself back around from night shift. I'm looking forward to how our life will change.
God has been very good to us. We have put our faith and trust in him. We have waited on His time for me to go part-time and for J to take over the main bread winning. After many years He has said yes and we are so thankful. Please pray that the remaining 5 weeks will go smoothly and the transition will be as easy and smooth as possible. Please don't be surprised if you don't hear from me in this remaining time. I have the goal of being able to blog consistently come January.
