Coming to Days Near You
It's official. I have 2 more night shifts left. I'm so excited. I've still been struggling with staying awake on the drive home. I just need to get on a normal schedule. I've been getting up at 5:30 a.m. on my days off. The mornings are great. I have time for quiet devotional, 2 loads of laundry, and 30-45 minutes of housework before the rest of the house wakes up. The first thing we do together is go for a run (and tomorrow a bike ride). The dog loves the added activity.
I do seem to get a little tired around 3-4:00 in the afternoon, but if I sit and rest for a while I'm good to go.
I thank God for all His blessings. We've sought His will in all we do. A year ago DH started a secular job. At that time we thought it would take 2-3 years to get me to part-time and working days was not even in the picture. I appreciate my in-loves for all their help, encouragement, and time. We have placed great demands on them by asking them to help with caring for the boys. My mother-in-love really enjoys helping with the homeschooling. I know she has been missing it in the past few months, but it was too hard to coordinate 2 full-time jobs and explaining lesson plans to someone else, so I just did it all. It meant the boys had to become much more self-motivated and self-directed. I think it was a good lesson for them to learn.
I know there will be more adjustments in store for me. Not only do I have to get used to waking up at 4:30 a.m. 2 days/week, the routine and culture on days is different than nights. God is in all and overall. He will provide me with the strength to do all I am called to accomplish. I pray for grace, patience, and wisdom.
