A pearl a day makes a necklace

Each day God teaches me something- a pearl of wisdom. After pondering  my pearls for a time, I string them on a necklace. I love to take my necklace out and feel each pearl. Some are smooth because the wisdom came easily like a sunny day with no clouds. Other pearls are rough, having come with much pain. These pearls are priceless. Even though they have not the visual beauty of the smooth ones, their color is many- hued, while the smooth ones are flat white. Some of my pearls are softer than others. Their wisdom is constantly changing.  The harder ones have formed over a period of time. They form a base in a day and add layers over the years.

I enjoyed reading your writing here. I too have a nine year old daughter that doesn't always want to do school. She isn't Chinese, but her best friend is an almost 9 year old girl adopted from China. We go to their house once a week to study Chinese with them. I can relate to some of the things you said about wishing to be a counselor. I am on a journey of emotional growth myself. Sometime I will start writing about it in my blog, but first I need to figure more out about how to blog. You are welcome to visit my site. Do you know how to add friends to one's list? I haven't figured that out yet.

What wonderful writing. I really enjoyed reading this. It reminds me so much of my own life and the roads I have traveled. I am struggling greatly right now. I wish so bad that I had the ability to put my thoughts on "paper" like that. They just never seem to come out the way I planned. I am very new to blogging and still trying to figure all of this out.
