Up to My Ears

• Apr. 25, 2007 - White pants

Why, oh why, must baseball pants always be WHITE?!?  This is my laundry lament of late.  I just discovered that I am a few days behind on the white wash, and there are SIX pairs of horribly UN-white baseball pants needing to be washed.  Here is a sample of the variations on UN-white that I am dealing with:

My arsenal includes:  Tide 2X Ultra w/ Bleach, Clorox - NEW! Improved Whitening Power! (Fresh Meadow scent, for fresh as a meadow scented uniforms), SUPER STRENGTH Greased Lightening (not strictly a laundry product, but it works), SHOUT ultra gel (the #1 stain remover*), Spray 'n Wash stain stick (the TREAT NOW WASH LATER wonder of stain removal), and of course OXI CLEAN - the STAIN SPECIALIST.  [ BTW, Oxi Clean just does not work for me.  I keep trying it, but it can't make a dent in these stains I'm facing.]

Of course we have a game tonight and a practice, then 2 more games tomorrow, so there's no putting it off any longer.  Wish me luck; I'm going in...

I just logged on and caught your post! I read this post and the one before it. So much for your sanity break, huh? But you did get to sneak in a few chocolate chips though, right? Chocolate makes any day a good day! Sorry, I don't have any laundry tips to share with you. I just use whatever is on sale. Throw the clothes in the wash and pray to God that they come out clean. LOL. Blessings to you.

Hmm, you're making me glad my son plays hockey. His jersey just gets wet and smelly. lol.
I've found that Shout spray works pretty well on grass stains.

Hope you were able to conquer the laundry. I like the phrase Jaybird (HSBlogger) uses: "Mt. Laundry erupted again." :)

I despair of grass stains but do remember a trick my Mom taught me when the kids were little and stained food all over- rub laundry detergent into stains and leave in direct sunlight- worth a try!

My husband's mom is a whiz with laundry stains. What does she use? I'm thinking lemon juice and salt, rubbed into the stain, and then left to soak in the sun. Then rubbed some more, sun soaked again, and laundered. She probably repeats the process until the stain is gone. I don't have that kind of patience, especially when I know the thing is just going to get filthy again.

Hi Cindy, saw your comment on my blog thought I would take a peek at yours. I abhor baseball pants. If the kids don't get dirty in the game then after the high fives they all slide into home! argh! Luckily though our pants are grey. But on other stains I soak in hot water and oxy clean overnight, then wash. Works almost every time.
Can I add you to my friends??
