Distinctly Different

• May. 23, 2007 - Here's something to do this summer

We  are participating in the "Bare Your Shelves" campaign.

This program allows Christians in America to directly assist needy brothers and sisters in Christ overseas with Bibles, Bible study materials and such.  We requested a package and it came today!

Inside was a special overseas airmail bag, directions and the request letter from a Christian student in Nigeria, Africa.  You keep the request letter as a reminder to pray for your reciepent, and pack 11 pounds (or more) of materials.  The directions clearly state how to pack it properly so it goes through customs without problems.  You mail the box off (estimated postage cost is $15 for 11 pounds, but I'm not sure if that was figured before or after the rate increase) directly to the person.  Most requestors are pastors or Bible students in Africa, Asia, or other dangerous countries.

Simple, and everlasting.  Does it get any better?

Hi, this is Cassandra. Thanks for stopping by and giving me some tips on swelling. You know, I haven't heard that about the salt- but it makes sense, because I don't eat alot of salty things. So when my doctor tells me to cut back on the salt, I am thinking, "Where? I don't eat that much!" I have heard a couple of times to eat protein, also, so I will have to try all of your suggestions. I hope it helps- I need some relief!

That is wonderful. We as Americans have such wealth. Just thinking about the Bibles in this house....and there are others that are overjoyed to have just a small protion.

My DH is the one that keeps buying all the Bibles. Even while in prison, he is talking about getting another one. I just LOL at him because it is his "thing"
