• Oct. 24, 2007 - Bounty!

Posted in Healthy Eating
I have been quiet all week!  Well, recipes have been going up on my recipe blog, but nothing here until this:
What a provision!  These are not organic, but we will enjoy them, nonetheless!  How did I come by this bounty you ask?  One of our local stores gathers bananas that are getting too ripe, or have been separated from their bunch and sells a banana box full for $1.  I ask for one every time I am in there, as the bananas are great for banana bread, smoothies, etc. Yesterday, when I asked the produce manager for a banana box, he offered this mixed box instead.

I got all of this for $1!!

I did have to sort through and remove the too old stuff, but what a deal!  Thank you, Jesus, for providing such a bounty!

What a generous store manager. All that for $1. That sure is a Blessing. I'd be in the kitchen all day with a treat like that.

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, Momma, you gotta call me and tell me which store it is that does this. I've asked the store near me what they do with their "day olds" of everything (in Fresno, we could buy them REALLY cheaply.....breads, produce, meat, milk, cheese, etc), they told me that they can't sell them, they are required to throw them out. Even the produce and the bread! I know that they are incorrect, I am fairly sure that it is simply a matter of not wanting to "hassle" with it. SO, I'd love to know which store it is.....I may have to make the drive down the road for boxes full of bananas, periodically! :)

Blessings,
