We have been busy this morning! We made Roman Meal, coleslaw, sprouts and saurkraut!
I have never tasted saurkraut, but am doing the NT Cookalong with Katie and it this was this week's recipe. It is happily sitting on my counter, waiting for the three days to go up so we can try it. I made a small batch as this is our first try. My Honey enjoys coleslaw once in a while and so I'm trying my hand at it for the first time. We'll see how he likes it before I post the recipe.
We had Roman Meal for breakfast, along with toasted homemade bread and raw milk. Yummy! We also soaked seeds last night and began sprouting them this morning. Now we've just got to clean the kitchen and start the book-learning!
You are braver than I! Actually, having grown up eating the "stuff", I have never cared for it. My family has very deep German roots and they love the stuff. There was never a wedding that didn't serve it. I do need to introduce it to my children. No need for my dislikes to be transferred to them.
Just wanted to say hello. We made this sauerkraut almost two weeks ago but admit I am scared of it! I used whey from some yogurt, the cheese from which was combined with fresh herbs for the most fantastic spread!
I am also from central ca!

What a blessing with the produce! As a single mother of 6 I spend a lot on produce and organic is usually way out of my price range. I'll have to ask my grocer if they would be willing to sell the older fruit so cheaply!
I followed the link for your books for sale and didn't see any. Perhaps they're all gone already?? I LOVE to buy books lol.
I'm the blessed wife of My Honey of 14 years, and Momma to eight wonderful Lambies aged 13 and under. We live in Central CA, and use Ambleside Online for our curriculum. I'd love to meet you , so browse a while and feel free to leave a comment!
