The Headmistress at the Common Room and others have been highlighting books that are now illegal to buy, sell and trade due to the insane CPSIA law that went into effect on Feb. 10th. I will be joining their efforts to showcase the great loss of American culture and history that this law demands. Please join us in calling Washington and demanding that this law be changed. The information is available here.
From my collection:
Corn-Belt Billy by Mabel Leigh Hunt illustrated by Kurt Weise.
Wee Willow Whistle by Kay Avery, illustrated by Winifred Bromhall
Hilda Boswell's Treasury of Children's Stories
Mable Pyne's The Little History of the United States
Raggedy Ann and Andy and the Camel with the Wrinkled Knees by Johnny Gruelle
The Little Lost Angel by Janet Field Heath illustrated by Janey Laura Scott
Each of these lovely books is now illegal to buy, sell, trade or even give away under the CPSIA. How very un-American! Let us not stand still and accept this overstepping government. Make the calls!
Thank you for sharing your books. I always enjoy seeing other people's favorite old books. Mable Pyne's The Little History of the United States is one of my favorites too.
Blessings!
