• Mar. 10, 2009 - The Garden is Finished!

Posted in Garden Updates
We have finished the garden box!  Planting begins on the morrow!

Since we are beautifying the place, we continued the garden walkway to connect the patio and BBQ.

And the remaining area will be rocked in with lovely salt and pepper granite.  We got the first load today, and will get another tomorrow.  Thereafter, each week we will get one load and continue until we are finished.  It's hard work, but with many hands, work is finished fast!

My Honey has been working hard almost daily after work.  I'll be glad when it's all done.  We hope to have it finished before it gets too hot.

Your planting beds look real nice. I like the idea of putting down the block to make it look like a garden patio. One question, where the picture of your dh is standing, did you not want to put a garden there too? Looked like it was in full sun too. Just a thought.

Again, good job, looks great.

I did want a small bed along there, near the house, but my husband wanted it this way. I got the big bed, so I am satisfied. This picture was taken at nearly 7 PM, and the sun was very low in the west, hence the shadow over the garden box. Believe me, that spot gets full, hot sun all summer long. Near the house might even be too hot for a bed, since all the heat reflects off the house, too. We live in a very hot area. Summer temps are about 110.

Oh, ok. Where do you live again? My how I wish it was warm here in Ohio right now. If my dh could get a reliable job down south. I'd move in a flash.

Do enjoy planting that nice box garden. I can't wait to get things going here. My tomatoes and broccoli just sprouted downstairs and I'm thrilled.

I enjoyed that last post too about old people. ROFLing. I needed a good laugh too. I have two down sick again and needed cheering up. (smile)

Love your blog. Read ya soon.
