Be glad that we don't live under socialized medicine...yet. Here's a story from Australia about the state of their Emergency Rooms.
AN ANGRY doctor allegedly threw a baby and twisted its arm and an elderly patient was left to die in a hall way at Bundaberg Hospital, staff claim.
Three hospital staff have sought whistleblower protection after detailing allegations of gross medical neglect and incompetence, overcrowding, bullying, intimidation and cover-ups to the Crime and Misconduct Commission.
A highly qualified nurse who spoke to The Courier-Mail told how she was repeatedly made to falsify records to hide lengthy waiting times in the emergency department.
That's basically what the Australian government is telling a doctor who wants permanent residency. You see, his 13 year old son has Down Syndrome. The government is not willing to risk the potential costs to the medical system that the boy may cause.
"You can't fully blame the medical staff, the nurses and doctors at this hospital. If they don't have the resources, or the beds or the staff to do the right thing by their patients this will happen again and again."
"While medical and nursing staff could not have prevented the miscarriage, we acknowledge the care and emotional support this patient received was not acceptable and we will fully investigate the situation," Dr Lyons said.

I have been reading so many stories of medical care in other nations that have 'universal' health care. I thought I would gather them and share them with you. Since half of our nation thinks it would be such a good idea, I want my readers to have an idea of what is to come if they get their way. I'll add stories as I come across them in my surfing.
Barry Baker, 59, who lived alone, dialed 911 saying that he thought he was having a heart attack. An ambulance was sent to his house while a controller kept him talking on the line.
By the time the ambulance arrived at the house in Patcham, Brighton, Baker had collapsed, but the telephone line was still open and was being recorded.
It is alleged that staff in the control center heard the two medics making disparaging comments about the state of the house.
A police source, who asked not to be named, said that the medics were then heard discussing Baker and saying “words to the effect that he was not worth saving."
