The Adventures in Homeschooling the Stinkers!

Friday July 11th

Shoo I am pooped already!  I've done laundry and washed a bunch of dishes and old dirty canning jars...most of them belonging to MIL LOL.  I know she'll be glad to get them back; they are not cheap!
I had a salad and pizza for supper yesterday...I think the salad disagreed with me.  I felt sick to my stomach all night last night, and I still do a little bit this morning.  Oh well it'll pass.
I think for supper tonight we'll have pork chops...either fried or grilled, depending on how the weather holds out.  Not sure what I'll make to go with them, taters of some sort at least.
After Lucas is born I want to work on getting back in shape somewhat...not right away of course, but maybe when he's 6 months old or something. Jerm mentioned that maybe he'd work out with me some, which would be fun I think, that way we could help each other out!  I'm not overweight or anything so I won't need anything like slim quick, plus I'll be breastfeeding of course.  That would be good for someone who doesn't really have any diet restrictions; I'm gonna miss drinking my coffee and tea!   Especially MIL's tea...that's the best stuff you could ever drink!
Well, I'm gonna go rest, I'd say it was after 2 this morning before I went to sleep and I still didn't sleep that well last night, so I am sore AND pooped!
 Blessings,

7/10 30w3d appointment

The appointment went fine.  I've gained 16lbs so far, Lucas' HR was fine. Today they gave me a steroid shot because my eczema is flared so badly. Woo I can't wait for it to clear up! This was my 2nd "every 2 weeks" appointment; I guess only 3 more of those until I start going every week.  My appointment was with the Dr on call, so I waited about an hour to be called back, then another 30 minutes before he came to see me.  I thought I'd never get out!  My shot kinda hurt, I was walking around rubbing my hiney afterward LOL  Oh well the outcome will be worth it!
I've decided I should invest in a wrinkle cream company LOL.  If I think it's bad now it can only get worse once I have 4 youngins running around!
Praise God...WE HAVE RAIN!  It has rained the last 2 days, and today it's rained ALL DAY!  I haven't checked yet to see how much we've gotten, but I know it'll do the garden much good!
Well, I'd better git!  Have a good one!

Blessings,

Happy 4th of July!

Well, I pray you all are having a wonderful day so far and will continue to do so.  I woke up this morning to a nekkid 3 year-old trying to wake me up and a 5 year-old wanting something to drink.  So much for sleeping in!  Rach spent the night with my parents yet again so she could go swim.  We're going to the local Walmart tonight to watch the fireworks, which means if I want to even consider staying awake until 11 then I will most definitely have to take a nap.
I found a McRuffy Press 3rd grade phonics kit on eBay last week...WOO!  It's normally $75 but with shipping I paid about $40.  I may actually start using it with Rach this year because she picks up reading so well...words I have never taught her she see and reads them!
I never heard of McRuffy Press until my cousin told me about it, she actually gave me her Kindergarten kit so that's what I use...I'm hoping it works as well for Issac as it did for Rach.
I think as soon as I get the kit in the mail that we'll go ahead and start school, I really want to get a head start before Lucas gets here.
Well, I'd better go for now, have a great holiday y 'all!

Blessings,

My first entry here!

Well hello there!  I'm Becca, 28, married to the love of my life Jerm for 10 years.  We have 3 children; Rachelle, 7; Issac, 5; Ethan, 3; Mr Lucas Gage is due to join us September 15th.  We'll see how long it takes him to decide to pop out, hopefully he won't be late to the party!
I currently homeschool Rach, she's going into the 2nd grade.  Issac is starting Kindergarten this year.  We actually are starting school this month since I am due in Sept...we can school up until I have Lucas, the take a month or 2 off to enjoy the new one!  For phonics I use McRuffy Press, and for math I use Liberty math, but next year I'll be using something else for Rach since Liberty only goes to 1st grade.  We spent 2 years on the K book since math is a little trying for Rach.  Everything else is kind of mix and match.
I'd best go for now, nearly bed time!  I can't wait to get to know some of you!

Blessings,

  ~*Becca*~
