I have been thinking of all the different reasons we have chosen to homeschool: to teach and train our children according to and using God's Word, to choose what we want to learn and when, to move at our child's pace whether it be moving quickly through a subject or slower due to difficulty, to travel as we desire (and money allows), to take breaks as needed or desired, to be able to minister when the opportunity arises, etc...
The one I love the most is the flexibility. I love being able to get up in the morning and decide we are going to take a run to the mall after getting a math lesson done or having a friend call up and ask if we want to go try and see the President who is coming in town that day, holding up signs and getting our picture on the front page of the newspaper or go help a pg SIL move into her new house. I love being able to decide we are going to take a break so we can work on remodeling a bathroom and not feel guilty because we have been schooling year round. I love being able to say "no school today" because Daddy has been working long hours and has a day off to spend with us.
So what is your favorite reason for homeschooling? I would love to hear it and why. Leave a comment or if you post an entry on your blog, let me know so I can read it.
I think my favorite part of homeschooling is having my children with me all day. I have had the two older ones in public school at one time, so I really appreciate having them with me now.
Flexibility is a big part of why I love homeschooling, too.
