We finished our first week fairly well. Everything got accomplished except one science experiment with the Grammar level and I may work that in tomorrow. I'm pretty glad of that seeing that we had quite a few interruptions like having to do an errand day on the 1st (we do have to have food), and then baby getting sick this afternoon with a fever.DD1(Dialectic) did fairly well but we are going to have to work a little more on learning to answer questions in more depth as she had to go back and add to her accountability questions. She did well with her transparency maps once we figured them out.
The other 3 DD's (Grammar) did well. They were able to answer most of the questions asked during their discussion time. I guided them on the first map and they did the second one pretty much by themselves. The hardest part was figuring out how to have all 3 of them read from the same literature book but it worked out.
We did a salt map of Egypt. I pretty much just made the dough and let them at it. I tend to take over and I really want them to learn to work together and figure things out. I did suggest drawing out the map first so they would know where to put the dough but other than that, I stayed in the kitchen. It will be interesting to see how the painting goes next week.
We are looking forward to pyramids and mummies next week!
