Cookie Exchange

I participated in a good friend's cookie exchange yesterday. I usually just make a simple cookie like snowballs or peanut clusters but I decided to be adventurous and make Chocolate Peppermint Stars this year. I had seen the recipe in our newspaper and they sounded yummy! They weren't real difficult to make but I was trying to do too many things at one time and it took all day.
My friend gives prizes for 2 categories - Best display and Yummiest looking cookies. I knew I wasn't in the running for best display as I just put mine nicely on a plate where others come up with themes and pretty decorations. I did, however, think I had a chance at yummiest. It turned out that I won! It was close as it was only by 1 vote. I won a pretty little gold teapot ornament that looks very pretty on my tree. I enjoy the cookie exchange for the fellowship but this year was a nice bonus.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I didn't even know that people had left comments. This new blogging thing kind of stinks right now. I hope they straigthen things out.
I am loving the FL weather. Though it is a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit. We just spent the day at Disney just walking around Downtown Disney and then riding over to the Boardwalk to walk around and window shop and look at decorations. It was sooo much fun and didn't cost us anything but gas and some special munchies.
Have a wonderful Christmas if we don't catch up again.

I just wanted to say that I stopped by your blog today and enjoyed my visit! I haven't been to a cookie exchange in years and I really miss it. I think maybe I'm going to have to be the one to organize the fun. Have a Merry Christmas....from one mom of girls to another!

Congratulations on the cookies.
Your daughter is adorable. Belated Happy Birthday to her. Even though there were some disappointments, I bet she still had a good day. And, I know when I mess a cake up or something, I am usually more bothered by it than they are.

Those look so good!
For our cookie exchange this year I made pretzel kisses. Holiday shaped (trees, stars, bells) pretzels with the white and red peppermint Hershey kisses. Melt them in oven. Take them out and put a mint M&M candy on top to smoosh the kiss down. So easy. So yummy! I can feel the hips expanding! :)

Boy do those cookies sound yummy! I'll have to try them out. Isn't it amazing how fast they grow? My only baby is 13 now and it seems like she's still my little 3yr old! (sometimes she even acts like it!)
