"Blink"
Every year in August I let my son choose a novel for me to read. I get so absorbed in novels that life stops around me when I read. I set August aside as the one month of the year I allow myself to read a novel. My son has great taste in books, and his natural inclinations are much different than mine when he decides what he wants to read. His choices broaden my own horizons! It's a great adventure every year. Sometimes he picks a trilogy, and then we're really in trouble as life stops altogether - laundry gets backed up, supper isn't ready - sigh - but the family is great about giving me a "lazy month" and the reading usually is really good for me.
This time, Simon chose "Blink" by Ted Dekker. Well worth a read!
It's about a Muslim princess, a Californian genius, and a plot to change the world. Very cool. Very imaginative. High adventure. Lots of fun.
Enjoy!
