Yesterday, my hubby was asked to present an award at the Forbes List Company that he works for. This is no mom-and-pop-shop, not that there's anything wrong with mom-and-pop-shops. The company he works for is huge, that's all I'm saying - huge enough to be in the Forbes 200 list every year.
Anyway, this award... well... you should first know that my hubby's name is "Stewart D. Waterman, Jr." At this huge company, this award he's been asked to present, it's called "The Stewart D. Waterman Innovative Award."
I know, right? Way cool! His name... on the award! Here's a copy of the speech he's giving today:
"On this auspicious occasion, I must reflect on the power and majesty that is the Stewart D. Waterman Innovation award. Truly, where does its power lie? Is it in the name? “Stewart”, which means ‘keeper of the estate’ or ‘steward’? Is it "Waterman", which means 'Man…. Of the Water'? Does this mean that Clayton is destined to be a sea-faring man-servant? I say thee nay! The secret is in the “D”. “D” that stands for ‘dynamic’, “D” that stands for ‘daring’, “D” that stands for ‘innovation’. Ladies and Gentlemen, a famous philosopher once said “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility”. Clayton, take this award... and share it with your family and friends. Go forth and continue to do great things!"
You laughed, didn't you? I did, too! He's just so good-golly cute!
Congratulations, Clayton, whoever you are. Your award is named after a wonderful, hard-working, honorable, trustworthy man - my hubby!
I love you, Stewart. ^_^ ~your wife.
