Janney knows how to spell her name, and right now, she is drawing J's into the nameplate page of her little red Gideon's New Testament that one of the boys got at camp, that Janney has claimed as her own.
I can't wait to teach her how to draw an A, an N, an E and a Y - then she'll be able to WRITE her name too.
UPDATE: I showed Stuart this post, and then wanted to show him the J Janney wrote in her Bible.. I went to find it and this is what I found. She had lined hers up with her brothers for tomorrow's Prayer and Bible time.. Notice the Bibles are the right way up and facing the English way to open a book..... and the Hebrew Prayer books are right way up and the right way to open a Hebrew book.. Smarty pants girly.
I have a Complete Jewish Bible too... this was my preferred translation when we were reading the book of Job. I still stumble over the Jewish names and sometimes have to look in my NAS to follow the stories.
It always amazes me what our little ones pick up when we think they aren't paying attention. I LOVE the way she placed the books - covers up. Does she "read" them the correct way too?

I am Sombra, and these are the stories from our house. We're a Messianic family where academics often take a back seat to the work and adventure of life.
