With no camera, I'm having to rely on being able to produce word pictures..
Our day started off with a lovely piece of cake for breakfast.. mine was served to me while I was still in bed. Soon, the masses congregated onto my bed and a wonderful game of tickle and tussle was had.. while I tried to hold my spot on Stuart's side of the bed.. You know that song.. There was 6 in the bed and the pregnant one said "I'm squished, moved over", I had to sing a round or two. Soon Daddy was called and he just jumped onto the pile.
One of the boys asked "do we have to do school today?" Hmmm, I guess not. Myles did work on a week long assignment though.
Rourke moved the new fridge and the toaster table, and I scrubbed the floor and baseboards under there, continuing the work I've been doing around the perimeter of the room this week. I can't work for long periods of time, being down there scrubbing his hard work on my belly and I get out of breath fairly easily.
After a no caffeine coffee break, Trent and I went for mail, empty the recycling, gas up his truck ($100!!) and then off to Indian Head to buy the rails for the boys to work on fixing the yard and corral fences. Over the years, several of the rails have rotted away, so it's in need of repair. The good thing is, they're big enough to do this work themselves now. The last time Stuart fixed the fence, Trent was just barely able to help, now Stuart doesn't need to be involved at all.
Lunch was simple leftovers of last nights chicken pot pie - with a lovely SWEET biscuit crust.. lol. I had needed some help, so I chose a scone recipe and asked Rourke to make double the recipe, without the raisins. OOPS, I forgot to look at the sugar content. Double the recipe called for a 1/2 cup of sugar. When I placed it over the chicken pot pie mixture, I didn't notice it was sweet. We only figured it out when Stuart who took the first bite, asked what the sweetness was from. OOPS
Trent and I worked on another segment of the kitchen, the floor and cupboard doors around the food preparation space, which is always really yucky gross. Trent tightened cupboard doors and handles, and I scrubbed and scrubbed. I needed another sit down after that exertion.
Then Janney asked if she could ride her horse. We all went out, brushed down Rimmon, and put her new saddle on, the hackmore bridle, and Janney in her new red cowboy boots go up on that little pony. I'm so impressed with this little horse. She's only 2 and had virtually no training, the boys have been on her back a few times, but not enough to really have her "trained". But she easily allowed that saddle on her back, that bridle on her face and Janney on her back. I lead her around with my "click click, Walk ON" and then "Whoa" when I stopped. A few times Janney had to give her a little kick, as I said "Walk On", and Janney learned to praise her when she stopped when I said "Whoa". At one point, Bucephalus tried to mount her while we were walking around, she did a quick side step, but Janney hung on. Stuart wants me to get Janney a helmet for riding.. one more expense.
Myles and Trent are now off, gone for their first ride of the spring on Aragorn and Sahara. I wonder if they took Negev too?
Rourke, Janney and Asher are playing restaurant now with Janney's new groceries. Rourke just asked for bacon on his hamburger. Janney said "NO - we don't eat bacon!" They even sang the blessings before they ate their play food.. lol. How sweet. I love how our life influences their play!
And now I'm going to go wash the horsey smell off my hands and make dinner. Home made Mannicotti, my own pasta and my own sauce.
Have a great evening.. I just may have to go to bed early.
