Trampoline
I finally bit the bullet and bought a trampoline. We've been humming and hawing about it for about 2 years now. Recently Stuart was saying how he was really wanting the kids to be outdoors more, and we needed to make the yard more "appealing" to them, to draw them outdoors more. He approved the purchase of the trampoline.. and I just had to do the legwork.
So, today Trent, Janney and I took a load of garbage to the dump in his truck, then proceeded to Regina's for a short visit, where we were invited to join them for lunch. Then we left there and went south of the city to where I had seen a sign for trampolines last summer. Turns out this guy actually manufactures the tramps! Triad Trampolines
So we brought home a 15" octagonal tramp, which the boys promptly put up, and began the jumping. Myles built a little ladder for the littles, and Rourke got out the hose - yes, it was hot enough today for a hose! It went to 25C today! I even had to put sunblock on the littles, you could see their little faces and arms going beet red. Myles and Rourke have the sun scorched nose and cheeks.
So the first leg of back yard ameliorations is done, now I just need to build a sandbox and plant some sunflowers. I have this vision of the kids playing in a big square sandbox, surrounded with beautiful tall sunflowers, and a ground cover of zucchini plants. I won't be able to grow a vegetable patch this summer, it's going to get dug up by the septic tank guys.. I'll be happy to have a few zucch's from my little playground. |
