This little barn swallow family first step up house on the lamp at the front door. Then someone flicked the switch, the lamp got hot, and they realized that it probably wasn't a good place to raise a family. However, they were quite upset at having to move, the following morning the male was sitting on the electrical line that goes across the driveway, and he pooped on my head. HEY! I didn't turn on the light - I turned it OFF!
Anyhow, they found a new location to build a nest the next day, right above Janney's bedroom window. This is the mama sitting on her eggs.
And proud papa standing guard on the fence. He's always there!
Sadly every time we go out onto the patio, they fly away, but it does give me the opportunity to sneak a peak at the nest. I had to use a mirror to see inside the nest, but there seems to be 6 pretty little eggs in there.
The bottom of the nest is layered with feathers.
Wow, has it been that long since I was here! You almost ready to have that baby. How exciting. We are getting ready to move, lots of work. Hope to be back soon.
Hi Sombra! We love the nests around our house too. :) I emailed Elizabeth from RGT, and recommended you for the Message Board. So, I guess you just try to register now? Lol, I've never recommended anyone before, so I dont know exactly how the process goes, but if you need the info when you register, I am fulltime mom, member #1121.
Blessings! :)
Great idea on using the mirror! I would have never thought of that. I will have to remember that for when we need it.
And thank you for helping me to identify that crazy flower I posted. That is exactly what it is. That was by far, everyone's favorite flower. I think because it was so bizarre and beautiful.
I love these photos, Sombra! Your blog is always refreshing because it's so real and so you. I love how you share about your everyday life and your family and all that goes in on your home.
Thanks for posting these (and everything),

I am Sombra, and these are the stories from our house. We're a Messianic family where academics often take a back seat to the work and adventure of life.
