On our way to the airport, Rourke kept saying their flight was delayed.... imagine my frustration when we entered the airport and the first thing Stuart says is, "Their flight is delayed!" I thought he was joking, and I was looking at the monitor and I could see it was on time... ARGH, that was the departures, not the arrivals.
So we left, ran an errand and came back. It said they were in customs, so we waited.. we waited what seemed a very long time.
While we waited, one of the other moms relayed to me the turmoil of their trip down. You see, I hadn't heard a thing from them all week, but this mom was tracking them on the computer online and saw that they didn't get on the plane from Minneapolis to Oklahoma. As she relayed to me the story, my eyes filled with tears. There were only 4 seats available on the plane to Oklahoma, so instead of dividing the group, they all stayed together (that's why we send an adult with them!!!) Anyhow, the airlines put them up in a hotel, gave them breakfast and lunch, and had to take them to Houston Texas in order to get them to Oklahoma! It was a grand adventure for them, They all slept in king sized beds - but they had no luggage. They made it to camp a few hours late, but they made it in time for the first meal!
I haven't heard all the stories yet, they'll trickle out over the week, but I do know that there's a girl on Myles radar, and I know that Trent spent the week taking care of two friends who were sick and injured. I know Trent started a prayer walk in response to some kids who were sick and injured. I know they learned a couple of really silly songs.
The best part was watching Myles and Trent and their response to Janney and Asher. Myles jumped right back into the roll of buddy to Asher, picked him up, carried him around on his shoulders, loved him, hugged him.. and helped him eat his hamburger. So much loving and hugging. Poor Trent was so exhausted that he lay down on the bench at the burger joint and Janney lay on top of him, he looked completely comfortable with her there. Later on, after Trent had had a nap, he came downstairs, crashed on the couch with Janney in one arm and Asher in the other.
Trent even curled up and leaned on me for a hug, and Myles gave me the biggest longest hug.
I missed them when they were gone, but having them back after a week away - that's a treasure!
Heehee, I'm glad you're enjoying my bear encounters *grin* I can be as funny as I like at my computer :) My parents have a dog right next to us but when the bear comes he barks scaredly and doesn't want to go after it. At least it warns us but it's not scaring him off. I tried my hardest to get rid of him this time, wrecked one of my pots in the process even *grin*
Hope you're enjoying your evening,

I am Sombra, and these are the stories from our house. We're a Messianic family where academics often take a back seat to the work and adventure of life.
