Julie wants to know how I'm managing to feed the crew during the renovations, so lets take a virtual tour through my "interim kitchen".
We start outside the front door. And as we step over the threshhold, we are immediately at my sink - which until 3 days ago did not have running water. I was hauling water in buckets from the shower to the sink, washing then draining.. Notice how my washing machine doubles as my sideboard for my dishrack.
I have been storing my plastics and pots and pans on the mitten shelf above Trent Myles and Rourke's coats, which is behind Rourke in the image above
Going back to the picture with Rourke in it.. to his right are two steps. At the top of the steps is a small cupboard with some food items and other utensils for cooking. Opposite that is the Deep freeze which is doubling as my counter space for preparing food. I share this space with any tools that need to be put down by any member of the renovation crew. The fridges are beside this.. and the oven across from the fridges., and the dryer tucked beside the two fridges.
I also have my small appliances in the livingroom. Here we make toast and coffee and reheat etc. There is quite a bit of running back and forth to the mudroom to put things away.. but.. fortunately, this is short term.
Here's a cute video.. Elias doesn't seem troubled by the "interimness" of the kitchen, he has found out how to open the cupboards and gain access to kitchen play things.
Dear Sombra ~ may God grant you a peace that passes all understanding and work that progresses smoothly without a hitch. I am glad you have running water in your sink now.
I am Sombra, and these are the stories from our house. We're a Messianic family where academics often take a back seat to the work and adventure of life.
