As if renovating the kitchen weren't enough, we're also renovating the garden and play yard.
We're going to put an extra 8'X8' patio on the tree house and build climbing walls and climbing ropes and put on a slide and make the yard more inviting to the kids to be outside.
And this is the beginning of the garden renovations..
This raised bed will have 8 inches of sifted soil above ground, with this weed blocking paper underneath.
We're sifting the soil for weed roots and large clumps.
This hose will be drilled with holes every 6 inches and attached to the garbage can... which will service 4 gardens. We'll fill up the garbage cans from the truck when we haul water to the house.
The hose will be covered with more soil, and then the whole garden will be covered with chicken wire to keep the cats out.
I estimate that eventually there will be 24 of these in this space.. over a few years that is.
I loved getting to see all of your projects! The gardens are going to be wonderful. I've always wanted to try raised beds (my brother-in-law has them). That is a pretty nice tree house already--your plans to improve it sound awesome: a child's dream house!
