I was trying to think of something for Myles to do as a research project, you know the kind of thing where he'd have to look things up, read something, and then put it into practice.
I suggested fire twirling. Silly me, little did I know that the boys already had some knowledge on the subject. The next night there was chain and rag and gasoline and FIRE... and away they went. My heart was in my throat as I watched that chain get tangled around him and the fireball come careening towards him.. but he got himself out of the snag and kept the fireball spinning...
That first one wasn't captured on video, but here is the second and subsequent efforts.
As a mother and your friend I would have to say, "Oh my...how scary!", but as a spectator, I (and my children who were watching with me) would say, "COOL!!!!" We especially LOVED the night scene. AWESOME!!!!
BTW....Do not tempt me. We already have our passports and our bags would be packed in less than ten minutes. ;)
We have a friend who does fire twirling very, very well. In fact, he does it at weddings and other celebrations. A couple years ago we had a party at New Years and he did a bunch of twirling for us ... wonderful to watch. He often uses glowsticks as well.
I am Sombra, and these are the stories from our house. We're a Messianic family where academics often take a back seat to the work and adventure of life.
