The Colour of My Neighbourhood

This time of summer is the most awesome sight on the prairies.  In the east, the Maple trees cause a punch of colour in the fall, here, the crops in flower display the spectacle of colours mid-summer.

Welcome to my  neighbourhood.

This sea of Blue  comes from these delicate Flax flowers

Heat like sunshine

This perfect yellow is canola

We're not sure what this green crop is, might be canary seed.....

looks like this from farther off

Alfalfa is hay crop, though this is just from the ditch

It's mixed with other grasses - wild oats, timothy etc..

Put all these lovely crops together and you get this wonderful collage of colours

Some of the "people" in my neighbourhood left this behind

Roads like this are just full of tracks in the dirt.. I don't think this is Sesame Street Bert.

Absolutely stunning Sombra!! The first photo at first glance reminded me of the ocean *grin*. I have a couple aunts & cousins in Saskatchewan and my mom and I were just talking about how great it would be to catch the train out for a visit. I've never been and it looks so pretty. I'm such a farm girl and the fields are what draw me there. LOL, but the ocean is what keeps me here *grin*.
Have a lovely afternoon!

My, oh my, Sombra, your "neighborhood" is spectacular! Such beautiful colors--like a patchwork quilt. Gosh, I want to visit you!
