More of Him - Less of Me

• Mar. 9, 2008 - Sunday Devotional

Isn't that a wonderful scripture?  I have to say, it is absolutely one of my favorites!  It's so reassuring that the Lord has plans for me that He himself planned out!  He has plans that give me hope and a future!  Wow!  Just meditate on this scripture and  you'll be amazed at the awesome blessings and mightiness of our Lord!!  It's also so reassuring to me to know that God knows what He wanted for my life and is helping to live those plans out - whether I know it or not!  Amazing!  Praise you, Lord!!

It was a very, very busy week!  Friday, my youngest son had his Viola lesson and then started up his Mandolin lessons again.  He had taken Mandolin for a long time, but we stopped so he could concentrate on the Violin and Viola.  He really missed his Mandolin lessons, though, so we went Friday.  He will have these lessons every other week, which is a blessing to me as it won't be so hard on my pocket book and it will be easier for my son not having two lessons to practice for each week.  He can spend a little less time on the Mandolin since he will have two weeks to practice.  After we got home, I made a meal for my friend and one for us to put in the oven while we were at church today.  My mother-in-law came over while I was preparing the meal and wanted to take us out to lunch.  I suggested she just take all the guys as I needed to finish the meal.  It was so very nice for them to go with her alone and it was so very, very nice for me to have the house for a few hours alone!  I can't tell you how nice that was.  I can't remember the last time I was in my home alone!

Yesterday, I didn't do to much.  However, remember all that stuff my mother-in-law gave me from her china cabinet?  Well, I went through all my things and got rid of what I didn't want anymore and got all the stuff she gave me into my china cabinet.  What a chore!  Both my son's volunteered to help me (they are so great!) so it wasn't as bad as if I had done it on my own.  I'm so glad that is done.  I was so afraid something would get broken in the boxes even though they were in a safe place.  It's just good to know all of it is put away.

Church was good today.  Our Pastor was out sick, so we had someone else give the sermon.  He was good, but I missed our Pastor.  The other problem is the audio in the church.  They have a new person doing it and he has messed around with everything and now you can't hear what the person is saying very well.  I actually went to him and said something, but he basically blew me off, even though several other's said something to him, too.  Maybe if enough of us mention this, he'll do something about it.  I was so glad I had the meal in the oven when we got home.  I was able to relax this afternoon and that was so nice.  I did go out and pick up my son's birthday cake.  Can you believe it?  He's going to be 19 years old tomorrow!  Where did all the years go?  I can't believe it.  We are going to have a great celebration with him tomorrow.

                               God bless you ~ Julie
