Bithday Week
My boys' birthdays were last week and it's really hard to believe that they are now 19 and 17. They both truly are young men now. For my oldest son's birthday, we went out for lunch at his favorite restaurant and then he opened presents and we played games. Both my boys like to play games so that's always one of their wishes to do on their birthday. It was a nice birthday!
My youngest son had his best friend over and we went out for his birthday, too. They all did archery even though it was rather cold out. They really wanted to play air-soft, but can you believe it - it snowed!! They did go to the park a couple of times through all this, but mostly stayed in and watched movies, played video games and board games. My youngest son is also really into the Lord of the Rings miniature game and so is his friend, so they did that, too. This LOTR game is really neat as they get the game pieces and have to put them together and paint them. It's really a hobby for my son as well as a game. You can see this game here. If you have sons, I can highly recommend this game for them to get involved in. They both had great birthdays and I know they will remember them for years to come.
We are recommitting ourselves in this household to our Lord, Jesus Christ. It's not that we ever stopped believing in Him, it's just that, quite honestly, we were getting lazy about our walk with Him. We are committing to pray together as a family every day and also for my husband and I to pray as a couple. I'm also trying very hard to do my bible study and devotionals every day. It's so easy to get involved in the laundry or whatever and keep putting God off. I am really, really going to commit myself to putting other things after God! More of Him and Less of Me!!
God bless you ~ Julie

Happy Birthday to your young men! Wow, you are so blessed to have sons that enjoy the company of their parents-- did you think that day would come so quickly? It truly is a testament to your household that they seek you instead of the outside world and all its deceptive trapping. So many kids want to jump ship nowadays. I pray that our home will always be a desired place to be as well!
